A meeting between Steemians by @madilyn02

It's always a thing of joy to meetup with fellow steemians and to enjoy their company. From there we make new friends nans we also encourage one another.

Here in Nigeria we work as a team to achieve the following:

• Promotion
• Teach
• Encourage
• Enjoy recreation

We go for promotions to recruit new ones and when that is done we make sure to teach them about steemit and also encourage them.

We make out time to meet with our fellow users and to have fun with them as well. We have sets of meetups that we have done and I'm going to tell you about them in this post.

Meetup for promotion

Another set of meetup that we have is for the purpose of promoting steemit to people around. We go out to share fliers to the so that they can come and join us.

This promotion has been very effective as many from Nigeria has come to know and join the platform..
We are happy to carry out this promotions and to help people to come to know the platform and contribute and also benefit from it.

Meetup for the purpose of teaching

My aunt @ngoenyi has an office where she trains new ones coming into steemit and there we help to assist new ones to join and learn things about steemit.

This type of meetup is always beneficial to the new ones since they end up learning a lot of things and being better users in the platform. We teach topics that will benefit new ones like the markdown styles, how to write the achievement tasks and new things that happen in steemit like when the club initiative came, we were able to explain it to many new users and they learnt how to check for themselves too.

Meetup for the purpose of encouragement

My aunt @ngoenyi who is also the representative of Nigeria always makes sure to gather the steemians around her to provide encouragement to them. I'm always a part of this meetup and I can say it's very encouraging to everyone.

Most of the times we meet physically while at other times we meet through the zoom conference call to be able to reach other people in other cities.

There the new ones ask lots of questions and the others make sure to answer them. They make sure that these new ones understands steemit and how it works and in turn make up their mind to be better steemians.

Meetup for recreation

We also have meetups for the purpose of just recreation. There we have fun with other and we fell happy to meet new ones as well.

We have organised football team of steemians I my city. We also make out time to meet and play with each other and that has attracted other people to us and make them to join steemit as well.

We have jerseys printed and we branded steem on it. The team is divided into two set of players, the blues and the yellow team. And everyone is allowed to join the game.
At the end we always gather to take group pictures and celebrate our victory.

It's always a nice experience being there with everyone and enjoying the moment.

Most recent meetup

Yes, the most recent meetup that we had was yesterday, 03-05-2022.
We planned on inviting the friends to doctors mess for a meetup and we set the time to yesterday at 5:00 pm.
We went to the venue earlier so that we can welcome other people that will be coming

This meetup was organised by my aunt and @eliany to encourage new ones and to help them understand things about the new steemit challenge.
Soon it was time and the other people arrived at the venue.
Then my aunt started to ask them questions where they needed help to understand and we were all able to work together to answer questions that arose

We also went with some cookies for refreshment and we bought drinks there for everyone. The meetup lasted for about two hours, two hours spent talking about many steemit related things, having fun with the refreshments and encouraging new and old users to sit up.

As always, everyone was able to benefit from this meetup and I was also able to meet new steemians I haven't seen before like @augustybaby and @michaelakpan. I only saw them in posts before the meeting but I got to see them in real life. Many others were also present at the meetup and everything went smoothly.

We were there till it was getting late and we decided to go home, we thanked everyone for being present.
