I like Moondog brewing quite a bit, I love their wacky beers, the new Moondog World brewery with it's big bar and the lagoon but what I like more in their original brewery in Abbotsford, Melbourne, Australia. It's ramshackle, weird but it feels like home as good bars do.

And there was a special beer to try - now for the rest of this post to make sense you need to understand that my real name is not Harvey or Word for that matter, but Leon.

and the beer in question is.....

Leon's IPA

Yep that's right a A beer named after me, well not after me but rather after a dog, which in itself is quite cool, but I'm still claiming recognition and maybe even a right to drink it for free.

Turns out my IPA is a NEIPA, so it's nice to know that I'm on trend, I'm pretty easy drinking, a touch fruity at the back of a sip, which could have been phrased way worse. I'm a little cloudy, lightly carbonated and pretty darn refreshing.

I'm liking this a lot and as soon as they can it I'm buying heaps of it, and then I'm claiming I brewed it or something.

Next up was a beer sadly not named after me, but rather after a Bahn Mi - it's a sour called Bahnn mi geddon

Now I love a good banh mi - I don't understand how popular they are elsewhere, so let me explain - take a white bread roll put butter, pate, roast pork, carrots, cucumber, corrainder and chilli on it. and eat.

I was expecting this beer to be chilli and not much else, but it's actually quite layered and balanced the chilli only arriving near the end, like you've lold the Vietnamese lady just a little bit when she asked chilli?
This is cucumber at the front and then that chilli it makes it quite refreshing which is good because its 30 something degrees and this factory has no air conditioning and no roof.
