Three Posts That Did Not Caught Your Attention-Steem-Ghana Contest.

in Steem Ghana2 years ago (edited)

Hello fellow Steemians!

It's a pleasure to be here once again in 2022. This being the first contest of the year, I deem it fortunate to be part of the entries. This contest is very important in the sense that, it'll not help us unearth very good posts of the past years, but it'll also help us learn and take a second glance at posts that did not get our attention.

As the introduction of the contest rightly put it, sometimes it is painful to post a content that need to be voted on or the desired responds are not met. It discourages quality content in the future and can be very painful. Having said that, I don't believe the three posts I am going to share is as a results of its bad content or low up-votes. I desire to re-present those posts here, probably the links so that fellow steemians can go and read it again at their leisure time.

My First post i nominate is a post I wrote 4 months ago titled "Dreams On The Street". In this post, I bemoan the neglect of the STATE and SOCIETY on children on our streets. The post is brief but talks about how streetism is gradually become institutionalize and how this kids dream on the streets without the society and state doing anything about it. The post talks about how street kids are discriminate upon and called all manner of names yet forgetting that this kids are not inherently delinquents but a failure of society.
Kindly find the link to the post and read more about it. Perhaps you could grab one or two lesson. Link

My second posts I nominate is titled "Political Populism and Sloganeering, the New Rhetoric." posted five months ago. In this article, I rant about how our political class has become nothing but populist. I bemoan their mastery of propaganda and rhetorics on the electorate. The post focused on how politicians churn out slogans and promise heaven and earth just to get votes. The post further explain why policies such as FREE SHS, Ghana beyond Aid etc are all part of political populism policies.

My third and last post is titled " LETTER TO GHANA". In this post, I wrote a letter to mother Ghana, telling her how the Nation is sixty years after her liberation by her foremost son Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. I informed mother Ghana about how the current crop of leaders parade and masquerade as messiahs yet, they are nothing but agents of neocolonialism. I continued in the said letter to Ghana about how agriculture has been left it its crude form sixty years after independence. I told mother Ghana about the new lexicon Dumsor, schools under tree etc. I informed mother Ghana about how the clergy that ought to hammer on societal immorality and corruption are now worse than their congregants.

I further told her in the letter how impunity, lawlessness, thievery has become the new lexicon. I rant about how her children embarks on a perilous journey to Europe in search of nothing but hope. I told her about how the resource bequeath to us has become a curse and a paradox.

I informed her about how the media that ought to be critical are re-echoing mediocrity where the once barking watch dog has become a guard dog to the upper class. I bemoaned how underdeveloped citizens are now projected as celebrities who are used by the political class to form public opinion and win votes for them.

With your first nomination "Dreams on the Streets", is a nice nomination. Your idea that society must come together to find a solution to streetism is very necessary. Most of these are because of economic hardship masterminded by politicians who come with sugary campaign words. Urchins are part of our existence. Let us care for them for they are not miscreants, thieves but where they find themselves make them behave this way. So in the poem "Makola" the poet talked about the plight of the Ghanaian society using a market scene.

Your take on "Political Populism and Sloganeering, The New Rhetoric" is lucid. Politicians are always heard making verbal policies which they don't abide by. Their statement, promises and ideas are based on stomach what they will acquire for their personal gains. Politics to me is a complicated venture. People take it as a business because they do not understand it.

Also, "LETTER TO GHANA" you wrote a beautiful letter @ghanaba . You talked about what you feel. Even with the intentions of the first son Dr. Nkrumah other persons who occupy the president seat are a shame. Your take on agriculture , Dumsor and schools under trees are very true. Whose responsibility is to provide all these? Indeed Nkrumah wanted Ghana to be free and it was realised. But we are still in prison.

Thank you @ghanaba keep sharing. Happy New year
