WOX Travel Contest | Week 7 | Looking up Barcelona | Eng / Esp

in WORLD OF XPILARlast year (edited)

Hello @o1eh and all photography and travel lovers, basically hello to everyone.

Today I present my particular trip to the well-known city of Barcelona, and I do it looking up. It is said that one way of distinguishing tourists is that they often look upwards, while city dwellers do not usually do so.

Since in spring the urban trees are in full bloom, filling the city with green, I wanted to show the buildings of Barcelona's Eixample, that grid pattern that forms the centre of the city, I wanted to show them through the leaves of the leafy trees. Only details can be seen, as the leaves and branches only frame small parts of the modernist buildings of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In some of this buildings you may see the year that they were built.

Here is the result of this particular journey through the urban trees of Barcelona.

Thanks, great selection of photos. You reminded me of something. I study at a university in the city of Lviv, the center of which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. When I walked around the city center with my camera, I also looked up and photographed individual details of ancient buildings. Unfortunately, I lost these photos due to a hard drive failure.

I really liked your photos, it is immediately obvious that they were not taken by an amateur. The well-kept buildings are very noticeable, although I am sure that there are also ancient ones among them.

Thanks a lot @o1eh for your kind words and support.

Losing jobs because of computer system failures is a disaster. Sometimes it is because the equipment is of unacceptable quality and sometimes it is because we are not careful. In any case, it is a pity that such losses occur. On the other hand, although the situation in Ukraine is terrible, when life normalises a little, you can always go back to repeat the lost images, and even make them with a different look.

My hard drive was still under warranty. But instead of restoring my information, the manufacturing company simply replaced it with a new one. Therefore, nothing can be restored. But now I know that important information should be stored in at least two places :)

Many thanks for your kind comment @stef1

Really it was the original idea, although I have to develop it much more. I'm not very happy with the final result. Next time I went to Barcelona I'm going to try improving the idea as much as I can.

It is very good idea and it is worth to get work on that. In my opinion early morning hours are the best for architecture photography due to the contrast between early morning sun and long shadows :)

I utterly agree, although everything depends on the sunlight orientation of the building.

Thanks for answering.
