Photo Contest: Post Processing #12

Deutsch im Anschluß...

Have I already written somewhere how happy I am to be part of this community and this competition series? I'm sure I have ;-)) But that can't be said often enough... I find the togetherness to be very constructive and friendly: thanks for that to all the participants!

It feels a bit strange to be a participant in the competition whose theme I was allowed to propose. It's like stealing an advantage... Nevertheless, I'm participating this time: I think we all start with the same preconditions and the final decision will be determined by public voting. So I'm trying to put my little inner doubter on the siding (where it belongs for the moment ;-))...

So: I am fully behind the task. Unfortunately, I can't get out of the habit of looking for the real motif behind every artistic shot. That happens automatically! I simply have to get to the bottom of things.

But it's all the more fun to lay false tracks in return and to challenge the viewer's sense of intuition. In this respect, this kind of image processing is something quite different from doing it to improve quality or to create an art object.

In this sense, I felt completely in my element and chose a photo that was not so special in itself. From that, I cropped out a small area.

The image section was mirrored using GIMP and both views were merged. I changed the colouring, the colour temperature, the contrasts and the brightness.

The result is something very colourful and cheerful, which has almost nothing in common with the original. At least I think so ;-))

Maybe someone of you will still manage to find out the secret? (In that case, my next picture puzzles - there will be further editions at intervals, won't there, dear @bambuka? - will have to become much more complicated... ;-))

I am at least as curious to see if I can unravel your templates! Surprise me, please ;-))

Habe ich eigentlich schon einmal irgendwo geschrieben, wie froh ich bin, Teil dieser Community und dieser Wettbewerbsreihe zu sein? Bestimmt ;-)) Aber das kann man nicht oft genug sagen... Ich empfinde das Miteinander als sehr konstruktiv und zugewandt: danke dafür an alle Mitstreiter!

Ein bißchen komisch fühlt es sich ja an, als Teilnehmer in dem Wettbewerb anzutreten, dessen Thema ich vorschlagen durfte. So wie das Erschleichen eines Vorteils... Trotzdem bin ich dieses Mal dabei: ich denke, wir starten alle mit den gleichen Voraussetzungen und die finale Entscheidung wird per öffentlichem Voting ermittelt. Ich versuche also, meinen kleinen inneren Bedenkenträger auf's Abstellgleis zu schieben (wo er für den Moment hingehört ;-))...

Also: ich stehe voll hinter der Aufgabe. Leider kann ich mir nicht abgewöhnen, hinter jeder künstlerischen Aufnahme nach dem reellen Motiv zu suchen. Das passiert ganz automatisch! Ich muß Dingen einfach auf den Grund gehen.

Um so mehr Spaß macht es aber, im Gegenzug falsche Fährten zu legen und den Spürsinn der Betrachter herauszufordern. Insofern ist diese Art der Bildbearbeitung etwas ganz anderes, als es zur Verbesserung der Qualität oder zur Erzeugung eines Kunstobjektes zu tun.

In diesem Sinne habe ich mich ganz in meinem Element gefühlt und ein an sich gar nicht so besonderes Foto ausgesucht. Daraus schnitt ich einen kleinen Bereich aus.

Der Bildausschnitt wurde per GIMP gespiegelt und beide Ansichten zusammengefügt. Ich veränderte die Farbgebung, die Farbtemperatur, die Kontraste und die Helligkeit.

Herausgekommen ist dabei etwas sehr Farbenfrohes, Heiteres, das mit dem Original so gut wie nichts mehr gemeinsam hat. Finde zumindest ich ;-))

Vielleicht schafft es ja trotzdem jemand von Euch, hinter das Geheimnis zu kommen? (In diesem Fall werden meine nächsten Bilderrätsel - es wird doch in Abständen weitere Auflagen geben, lieber @bambuka? - noch deutlich komplizierter werden müssen... ;-))

Mindestens genauso gespannt bin ich, ob ich Eure Vorlagen enträtseln kann! Überrascht mich, bitte ;-))

The 12th Post Processing Contest by @bambuka has run out without my puzzle being fully solved....

@lllll1ll, however, with a good eye for structures and shapes, has recognised the essential: a wheel or a tyre. But then she also took the wrong direction and thought about what kind of surface it might roll on...

It doesn't - > this detail was the real mean thing about the choice of my motif: the wheel belongs to the landing gear of a small aeroplane. I photographed it from above, out of the plane, when it was about 600m above the ocean ;-))
