My Christmas in Mataró // Mis navidades en Mataró 🌲
Hello to all friends of the community and happy new year!
A few days ago we were visiting family and friends and stayed in the city of Mataró, located about 30 kilometres from Barcelona.
I didn't know this town and I was very pleasantly surprised by its historic centre.
Our hotel was only 10 minutes away from the city centre and every morning, looking for a place to have breakfast before going to Barcelona, we walked through its narrow streets and shops.
Lon buildings in the historic centre, some of them with borders and drawings on their façades and others painted in bright colours.

The decadence, always present in the old part of the cities, seems to me also worth photographing. An old building with a beautiful balcony and a modernist-inspired sign.

The doors, always present in my camera card, here are two that caught my attention.

A beautiful building. Peret, the great artist who made the Catalan rumba famous, was born in this street. If anyone reads me, other than @xaviduran or @romanie, who knows who Peret is, I'll be amused!

Shopping... I went in to photograph these little dolls, they are called "Tiós". They are a kind of Catalan Santa Claus.
And chocolates to welcome 2024, in a traditional bakery.

Greetings and Happy 2024!

Hi @silviadiez
I like the way caught the essence of the city, it conveys very well the architectural atmosphere of the streets. And of course, I know who the great Peret was. The absolute reference of Catalan rumba. A brillant musician and singer.
Many thanks for sharing.
