My trek to Annapurna Base Camp by @sampu - Part 3 - (PowerUp 100%)

I am in the process of writing a travelogue of my trek to the Annapurna Base Camp. Those who read the previous part may remember that 8 people from India - Abhishek, Ambar, Ankita, Binoy, Kathakali, Tapas, Ujjwal, and myself Sampat were there. We reached Ghandruk on 03-April-2021.

We were so tired due to our continuous journey since 01-Apr, we slept like a log. On 04-April morning, we wake up, went to the terrace .. and .. Mount Annapurna south along with Macchapuchhare and Hieuchulli is welcoming us.

The view is so refreshing that we all charged up and get prepared for the trek quickly. We left our extra luggage in the hotel and started at 9am.

The team - right to left - Ujjwal, Ambar, Kathakali, Me (Sampat), Ankita, Abhishek, Binoy, Tapas.

Within an hour of beginning, there was a small mishap. The sole of my shoe come-off. We had black-tape with us, and that saved me temporarily.

However, this is a temporary solution only as covering the shoe with black-tape leads to loss of the grip. In Komrong, there was a shop selling used shoe. I had to buy one. It cost me 3000 NPR or 40.46 USD for a pair of running shoe. In my hometown a similar new pair of similar running shoe cost around 600 INR or 8.09 USD while a new pair of trek shoe cost around 1500 INR or 20.23 USD.

The trail from Ghandruk to Komrong is mainly downhill. At Komrong, we had to cross the Komrong-khola. 'Khola' means river. After that it's uphill till Chomrong.

We reached Chomrong at late-noon. Checked-in in a hotel and spend the evening by gossiping and planning for the next day.
Cost : 500 NPR or 6.76 USD per double bed room with attache bath. Food cost extra.

We trekked around 9.8 km today. Gained altitude from 1940m (Ghandruk) to 2170m (Chomrong).
