Eltham Palace 👸

Where Am I? If you read the title of the article you already know the answer - Eltham Palace here in Greenwich, London.

It is a proper moated castle with lots of history. Once the royal family stopped using it as a residence, preferred venue for a Christmas feast, etc. it got into to the hands of a farmer who made very god use of the land. Then which is what I am even more interested in a wealthy family - the Courtaulds bought it and left an Art Deco stamp on it.

She was half Italian, half Hungarian born in Romania and met him on a walking holiday in the Austrian Alps. They got married, never had children but she sort of adopted her two nephews who lived in the palace when they weren’t studying in Cambridge.

Today the incredible international floral exhibition Fleurs de Villes meaning flowers of the city is here in Eltham Palace and its grounds. I loved every second of it, got interviewed about my experience and voted for my favourite flower installations majority of which were based on historical figures. I bet you will recognise a couple.
