Bottomless Brunch
Welcome to Folkestone on the South East English coast.
Trains take you here from London Bridge or St Pancras for a bit over 320 STEEM for 2 adults with a Two Together Railcard.
Folkestone didn’t use to have the best of reputations I was told but trust me nowadays it is a lovely seaside town full of character.
There are many independent shops and eateries that can’t wait to win you as a repeat client, especially now outside the tourist season.
There is of course a Christmas market this time of the year, right by the beach.
Funny enough Elvis was singing really loud when I walked in.
He’s never been down here though, actually he never left America because of his greedy manager, watch the Elvis film if you haven’t.
Then fighting the breeze, I made it to the Little Rock where my favourite table by the window looked ever so inviting.
What I love best about the bottomless brunch here is that pretty much all the dishes on the menu contain seafood.
A female head chef keeps the service going smoothly at the spotless show kitchen with a view of the sea of course.
I ordered the cod cheeks served with a mountain of chips hiding under gigantic peppery cress.
We started with a Bloody Mary each but moved onto Prosecco. They are ever so friendly here so don’t make you carry on having the spicy cocktail for the next hour and a half which is just as well.
The food tends to arrive super quick so once you finish your main course then you have more time to take the interior in.
It is inspired by the seascape, its shells and all the sea creatures that reside happily here, at least till they get cooked.
The brunch, which you can choose to upgrade as we did by adding unlimited alcoholic drinks, also includes pudding with all this for 240 STEEM per person.
I enjoyed a light passion fruit cheesecake. A traditional apple and blackberry crumble was the other option.
When was the last time you treated yourself to a bottomless brunch if ever?
Looks like you found yourself a lovely spot. I rarely eat out these days to save money and it's been even longer since I've had brunch. I find myself not eating until lunch more often than not, or maybe just some fruit.
I love how you calculated the costs in steem. Wouldn't it be amazing if you could actually pay with steem?
Paying with STEEM is a very good point indeed. A few years ago people here were paying at petrol stations with Bitcoin. Now they regret it of course as its value went up by lots. In other places, e.g. Asia, etc. people just go to an ATM and withdraw crypto as cash. This is currently not possible over here as such transactions are hard and time consuming to track and apparently the funds are mostly used to purchase illegal goods like drugs. So decisions, decisions when it comes to what to do with our spare STEEM.
The decision is easy for me at this stage. I power up everything and have no spare STEEM.
The little town looks picturesque, I like it. The meal is enough for the whole day and looks unusually tasty for English food ;-))
But: As far as I know, Elvis was stationed in Germany for one and a half years... Let me put it this way - there are photos of him in Bremerhafen and Friedberg... But he had to leave America for that...?
Thanks, so they say here about German food 😜 English food evolved a lot by being inspired by international cuisines.
Quite a good point actually, yes, he’s been to Germany for his military service but he never had an international tour, performing on stage. Army’s like religion in America, I guess he was already too popular to get a fake medical letter and give it a miss 😊 The last few years of his life he was just stuck in Vegas like a local tourist attraction making a rich hotel owner even richer.

You had me at fish and chips :o)
Beautiful photos and I love seafood, both to eat, and to cook:
🤩 This reminds me of a clambake! It’s just indoors and posher, maybe 😜 I find the crab irresistible.
The mussels I cooked it the style of moules marinières. Shrimps and crabs I Steem, I mean steamed lol.
Usually I like to cook crabs with wine, butter, olive oil, tomato, lemon, and a bit of parsley.
Anyway, I love seafood!
Wow, that whole place looks great, I also enjoy sea food, but I would enjoy the view from that port even more.

Steem For Ladies
I don't know anything about reputation in previous years, but I really liked what I saw now.
Hello friend, blessed day. 🙏
The place is a beautiful coastal area. It is good that the bad reputation has changed, and today it is a prosperous place, with great shops and beautiful restaurants.
Thank you very much for sharing.
Best regards 🌺
