RE: Steemit Engagement Challenge WOX Community S10W2: Drawing Hands

in WORLD OF XPILARlast year (edited)

Greetings.

I have read with concern several evaluations and comments from some judges in charge of the challenges of this community.

I turned my gaze towards this because some users contacted me and let me know that they felt bad, humiliated and diminished with their evaluations in the challenges, I want to limit several suggestions for you:

  • Remember that there are 7 challenges, one for each day of the week, which means that users must work quickly (and efficiently) to be able to participate in as many challenges as possible, adhering to the rules, quality and time. own content, without adding that they also have to comment on other participations.

  • Most of them are not artists, so I think the expectation level should be low.

  • Being a moderator or judge is a responsibility but can be done without offending or demoralizing a user (this only results in users not wanting to participate in your challenges).

  • You can be objective when evaluating, that's what the score is for.

Anyway, remember that we are not studied artists, but we still want to participate in the challenges and express ourselves.

@steemcurator01 take a look at this please.

I agree that the evaluation comment should motivate you to further improve your skills. It would also be unpleasant for me to receive such a form of assessment.
But this medal has a downside...

Remember that there are 7 challenges, one for each day of the week, which means that users must work quickly (and efficiently) to be able to participate in as many challenges as possible, adhering to the rules, quality and time...

@jorgevandeperre has been preparing this contest for a long time, he took it seriously and expected the same approach from the participants.

Checking a lot of applications for contests, I have identified several negative trends.
-In a hurry to take part in all the contests of the week, without exception, participants create quick low-quality posts "just in time" in the hope of getting a few coins. The quality of such posts cannot be high or even average (with rare exceptions).
-There are some participants who have higher social statuses on the platform. They hope for support because of their status, not the quality of the work done. Unfortunately, this situation also takes place.

I absolutely agree that the jury should be as objective and correct as possible and the comments should be respectful. In this case, the person simply did not restrain his emotions, although this is not permissible. But I understand him too.

We all need to be more respectful of the events of these contests, so as not to turn them into an empty formal fiction. And, of course, respect each other and communicate kindly with each other.

P.S.

Anyway, remember that we are not studied artists, but we still want to participate in the challenges and express ourselves.

I think it's not about the professionalism, the skills of an artist or photographer. It's more about a conscientious honest attitude to the task. If I see in the contest the efforts of the participant, the amount of effort and his desire... in fact, this is a more valuable result than a quick simple drawing by a professional, which did not cost him a lot of work (there are some). Participation is, first of all, effort, work and, of course, the result.

I totally agree with @nahela, these contests are made for all audiences, here some have more ability than others, of that we are all aware. But belittling the work of others, saying it looks horrible and claiming it's the worst thing you've ever seen, that's humiliating. Judges, we must be patient, kind, be guides, so that users are motivated and keep trying, we can not end up belittling the work of others because it is not to our liking.
More respect please.

In the Whatsapp groups of Colombia-original there are constant complaints about deals like this. To the point that very few want to participate in the challenges of this community in particular. I think there are things to improve, and not only at the artistic level in the users, but at the level of treatment by the jury.
The idea of the challenges should be, even if we are not artists, to have a good time, and it is not something that is happening, not when we see that the users, the vast majority, do not want to participate.

Agree with @bambuka. It's not about participating in as many challenges as possible, against the clock ...with this dynamic it's logical to submit mediocre work and get criticism in line with what's submitted. Quality should be rewarded, not quantity.
