Steemit Engagement Challenge WOX Community S10W2: Drawing Hands
Assalamualaikum everyone.
Welcome to the post. I hope that all of you will be doing well and enjoying the time with the grace and blessings of Almighty Allah. Today, I'm here to be a part of the week 2 contest in the WORLD OF XPILAR community. The topic of discussion is Drawing Hands. So, let's start the art without any wastage of time.
Drawing Hands
I have selected to draw the hand of myself while I have captured a picture of the half heart style. First of all, look at the picture that I have captured and decided to draw.
- Material Required:
I have just used a clear while paper which I have bought from the stationery store in the market. And, other material includes the carbon pencil, an eraser and a sharpener.
- Drawing Procedure (Step by Step):
First of all, I started drawing the index finger which was actually present at the top. I just started sketching it with rough hands. Have a look on it.
Then, I started sketching the middle finger. Remember that, index finger and the middle finger are the important part of this drawing because they are actually imposing the half heart shape.
After drawing/sketching the middle finger of the hand, I started drawing the other fingers and thumb of the hand which are actually forming the base of the drawing. Other fingers were just curved under the index and middle fingers and the thumb was covering the drawing. Have a look at the sketch below.
After the sketching was completed, I strated making the linings and edges more solid with the hard pencil use. I have also drawn some of the lining of the hand and the tips as well. You can see below picture in this regard.
- Final Results:
I have erased the non essential parts of the drawing with the eraser to make it more clean and also put my username, community name and date of drawing at the other side of the hand drawing. And then, shaded the whole hand with soft use of pencil Have a look at the final results of the drawing.
- Overall Experience:
My overall experience while drawing this hand was very great. Actually, I am not very good in drawing but I have tried my best to draw the picture of my hand. I have spend around an hour in drawing and I enjoyed it well with some snacks. The main difficultly while drawing this image was that I think I have selected a difficult pose to draw. Especially, the curved fingers and thumb were difficult for me to draw.
I would like to invite my friends @chiabertrand @malikusman1 and @suboohi to be a part of this contest.
I appreciate your effort and your time that you give while making this drawing and I know that drawing is not easy so there is no need to be confused because we all are not professional artists and the most important and the most good thing is to take park in competition because to win and to lose are separate things....
Overall I really liked your drawing and I appreciate your efforts again and I wish you good luck in this engagement challenge
Thanks for the nice compliments and beautiful comment dear.
Your welcome 😃
Wow
This is amazing.
So creative.
This is the only thing I find difficult doing.
If I try drawing, I don't know how it would look like.
Nice contest participation.
Best regards
Thanks for the compliments 😊
You need to send a link to your work in the comments to the contest.

Ok friend, thanks for the review.
🖐 😊 👌
Thanks @radjasalman brother for the support
Hi @steemdoctor1.
I don't think I'm wrong if I say that this is the most horrible and poorly done drawing I've seen in this contest. Marking the division of the fingers at random, without any consideration of the proportions, with unfinished lines leaving the position of some fingers in relation to the hand or the other fingers in ambiguity. To make matters worse, you have shaded the entire hand evenly, which does not distinguish differences in distance, shadows, lightness or volume.
You say you have deleted the non-essential parts. With what criteria did you do it? The nails, for example, were not essential?
What's the point of choosing a pose that's difficult to interpret if you don't make the slightest effort to capture its essence?
Greetings.
I have read with concern several evaluations and comments from some judges in charge of the challenges of this community.
I turned my gaze towards this because some users contacted me and let me know that they felt bad, humiliated and diminished with their evaluations in the challenges, I want to limit several suggestions for you:
Remember that there are 7 challenges, one for each day of the week, which means that users must work quickly (and efficiently) to be able to participate in as many challenges as possible, adhering to the rules, quality and time. own content, without adding that they also have to comment on other participations.
Most of them are not artists, so I think the expectation level should be low.
Being a moderator or judge is a responsibility but can be done without offending or demoralizing a user (this only results in users not wanting to participate in your challenges).
You can be objective when evaluating, that's what the score is for.
Anyway, remember that we are not studied artists, but we still want to participate in the challenges and express ourselves.
@steemcurator01 take a look at this please.
I agree that the evaluation comment should motivate you to further improve your skills. It would also be unpleasant for me to receive such a form of assessment.
But this medal has a downside...
@jorgevandeperre has been preparing this contest for a long time, he took it seriously and expected the same approach from the participants.
Checking a lot of applications for contests, I have identified several negative trends.
-In a hurry to take part in all the contests of the week, without exception, participants create quick low-quality posts "just in time" in the hope of getting a few coins. The quality of such posts cannot be high or even average (with rare exceptions).
-There are some participants who have higher social statuses on the platform. They hope for support because of their status, not the quality of the work done. Unfortunately, this situation also takes place.
I absolutely agree that the jury should be as objective and correct as possible and the comments should be respectful. In this case, the person simply did not restrain his emotions, although this is not permissible. But I understand him too.
We all need to be more respectful of the events of these contests, so as not to turn them into an empty formal fiction. And, of course, respect each other and communicate kindly with each other.
P.S.
I think it's not about the professionalism, the skills of an artist or photographer. It's more about a conscientious honest attitude to the task. If I see in the contest the efforts of the participant, the amount of effort and his desire... in fact, this is a more valuable result than a quick simple drawing by a professional, which did not cost him a lot of work (there are some). Participation is, first of all, effort, work and, of course, the result.
I totally agree with @nahela, these contests are made for all audiences, here some have more ability than others, of that we are all aware. But belittling the work of others, saying it looks horrible and claiming it's the worst thing you've ever seen, that's humiliating. Judges, we must be patient, kind, be guides, so that users are motivated and keep trying, we can not end up belittling the work of others because it is not to our liking.
More respect please.
In the Whatsapp groups of Colombia-original there are constant complaints about deals like this. To the point that very few want to participate in the challenges of this community in particular. I think there are things to improve, and not only at the artistic level in the users, but at the level of treatment by the jury.
The idea of the challenges should be, even if we are not artists, to have a good time, and it is not something that is happening, not when we see that the users, the vast majority, do not want to participate.
Agree with @bambuka. It's not about participating in as many challenges as possible, against the clock ...with this dynamic it's logical to submit mediocre work and get criticism in line with what's submitted. Quality should be rewarded, not quantity.
I have said that I'm not much good in drawing but I have given my best. Mistakes are surely the part of it and I am happy thay you have marked the mistakes, (but don't suggested the solutions). Anyways, I respect your reviews, thanks again.
Right my friend @franyeligonzalez. I think they should also pay attention while selecting the topic. We should avoid such topics which are different for many users to participate. But if we have set such a topic then we should never expect the artistry/photography of the professional level. And discouragement like this comment is really bad. This will impart bad impact and users will be fearful while participating. Anyways, I hope that administration of this community will look into this thing.
I also congratulate you, you took on the challenge and the fingers were defined, with their phalanges and the idea of not placing nails pleases me, because it reminded me of the articulated wooden hands.
Courage, we are constantly learning and your hand is on the right track.
Haha, actually I didn't draw the nails because they were not visible in the picture that I captured. Thanks for the comment and compliments!
Buenas noches.
Right friend 👍
You are right friend. Actually, the administration panel should pay attention while the selection of topics for engagement challenge. They should never expect the professional artists like photographer, artists, etc... All of us are not the jack of all trades.
