The World of XPILAR - CITYSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST Week #197 - Over the Hills and Far Away
"No house should ever be on a hill or on anything. It should be of the hill. Belonging to it. Hill and house should live together each the happier for the other."
Frank Lloyd Wright
Over the Hills and Far Away
A couple of years ago, I had to travel to Caracas, the nation's capital city, to attend to some personal matters that required my physical presence, as well as to visit my two children who live there.
Caracas is a city located in a valley crossed by a river, the Guaire, and surrounded entirely by mountains and hills, having as its northern border the Cordillera de la Costa, a mountain range which separates it from the waters of the Caribbean Sea, so its topography is quite irregular.
During my short stay of 2 or 3 days, I stayed in the southeast, an area full of hills that have been used in recent decades for housing construction in the face of the unstoppable urban expansion of the city.
In these photographs that I took that opportunity and that I now share in this post, it is possible to observe part of the urban developments recently built on the slopes of the hills, along with the pre-existing vegetation, creating a strange relationship of symbiosis between the concrete jungle and nature.
As I have described in previous publications, I used the editing tools offered by Picsart and Snapseed applications to intervene the original images to my satisfaction.
This is my entry for the CITYSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART Contest. This is an initiative of @axeman. I hope you enjoy it.
