In photography, light is the fundamental element, without it, this art could not exist. In other words, light is the raw material with which the photographer works.

Lighting is an expressive element that acts as another tool to tell stories through images, to highlight objects, to imprint drama or to hide figures.

For this new initiative by @bambuka from the World of Xpilar Community, all participants in this new invitation are asked to take or select a photograph of their own where, unlike the previous initiative, light is the main protagonist.

I recently had the opportunity to attend an event held in an iconic place of the city, which served not only to present the products that some artisans and entrepreneurs have to offer to the local market, but also as the resumption of activities of this cultural and artistic center that had been closed to the public, first, by the pandemic, and subsequently, by the performance of maintenance work.

En la fotografía, la luz constituye el elemento fundamental, sin ella, este arte no podría existir. En otras palabras, la luz es la materia prima con la que trabaja el fotógrafo.

La iluminación es un elemento expresivo que actúa como una herramienta más para contar historias a través de las imágenes, destacar objetos, imprimir dramatismo u ocultar figuras.

Para esta nueva iniciativa del compañero @bambuka de la Comunidad World of Xpilar, se nos solicita a todos los participantes en esta nueva invitación, tomar o seleccionar una fotografía propia donde, al contrario de la iniciativa anterior, la luz sea la principal protagonista.

Recientemente tuve la oportunidad de asistir a un evento realizado en un lugar icónico de la ciudad, el cual sirvió, además de presentar los productos que algunos artesanos y emprendedores tienen para ofrecer al mercado local; también como la reanudación de actividades de este centro cultural y artístico que había permanecido cerrado al público, en primer lugar, por la pandemia, y posteriormente, por la realización de trabajos de mantenimiento.

However, even though I like the image and it has a good resolution, I don't think that the leading role is played by the light, on the contrary, I think that the central element is the darkness, so it could be a clear example of a night photo.

Looking for other images in my archive, I find a sunset that I photographed some time ago from the window of my room, where the sun, the main source of light, is hidden on the horizon, while the night takes over the city. I particularly consider this photo more appropriate or consonant with this week's theme.

Sin embargo, a pesar de que la imagen me agrada bastante y tiene buena resolución, no creo que el papel protagónico lo tenga la luz, al contrario, creo que el elemento central es la oscuridad, por lo que más bien podría ser un claro ejemplo de foto nocturna.

Buscando otras imágenes en mi archivo, me encuentro con un atardecer que fotografié hace algún tiempo desde la ventana de mi cuarto, donde el sol, principal fuente de luz, se oculta en el horizonte, mientras la noche se apodera de la ciudad. Particularmente considero esta foto más apropiada o cónsona con la temática de esta semana.
