First of all, I took a good look at the photographs in order to plan the next steps, and look for the necessary tools or techniques. In this particular case, my objective was to insert the landscape that can be seen in the window or opening in the wall, somewhere in the building, preferably in one of the windows or openings that can be seen.

I usually use a set of common steps or processes in all my photo editing works, regardless of the characteristics of the image, which I start with the Picsart application, where I crop the image or images looking to eliminate those elements that I consider that are superfluous, or that can divert the viewer's attention from my main objective.

When observing the photographs, I realize that the windows that the building has are located, one in an ascending direction from left to right, while the other one descends from left to right. On the other hand, although the window containing the landscape descends from left to right, the photograph was taken in the opposite direction, that is, from right to left, which poses great difficulties in my editing process since it does not coincide with the direction of the openings in the structure.

I took the decision to rotate horizontally the image of the vantage point with the landscape in the background, and then crop the outline manually, since neither of the two applications allows me to do it using a polygonal line, at least in its free version.

En primer lugar, observé bien las fotografías con la finalidad de planificar los pasos siguientes, y buscar las herramientas o técnicas necesarias. En este caso en particular, tenía como objetivo insertar el paisaje que se aprecia en la ventana o abertura de la pared, en algún lugar de la edificación, preferiblemente en una de las ventanas o aberturas que se observan.

Usualmente empleo un conjunto de pasos o procesos comunes en todos mis trabajos de edición fotográfica, independientemente de las características de la imagen, los cuales inicio con la aplicación Picsart, donde recorto la imagen o imágenes buscando eliminar aquellos elementos que considero que sobran, o que pueden desviar la atención del espectador de mi objetivo principal.

Al observar bien las fotografías, me doy cuenta que las ventanas que posee la edificación están ubicadas, una en sentido ascendente de izquierda a derecha, mientras la otra, desciende de izquierda a derecha. Por otra parte, aunque la ventana que contiene el paisaje desciende de izquierda a a derecha, la fotografía se tomó en dirección contraria, es decir, de derecha a izquierda, lo que me plantea grandes dificultades en mi proceso de edición ya que no coincide con la dirección de las aberturas que posee la estructura.

Tomé la decisión de girar horizontalmente la imagen de la ventaja con el paisaje al fondo, y posteriormente recortar el contorno de forma manual, ya que ninguna de las dos aplicaciones me permite hacerlo haciendo uso de una línea poligonal, al menos en su versión gratuita.

I insert the image I previously cut out, on the right wall of the building, and adjust the inclination and dimensions, looking for a neat result.

Then I go to the Snapseed application, where I usually try the default effects available on the home screen, in order to see how the image is affected. Usually, this is a "trial and error" process that I repeat many times.

When I achieve a result that I can consider satisfactory, I try to adjust the sharpness levels of the image I obtained, and if necessary, I modify the values of illumination, brightness, saturation, contrast and other parameters.

Inserto la imagen que recorté previamente, en la pared derecha de la edificación, y ajusto la inclinación y las dimensiones, buscando obtener un resultado prolijo.

Posteriormente me dirijo a la aplicación Snapseed, donde suelo probar los efectos predeterminados disponibles en la pantalla de inicio, con la finalidad de observar como se afecta la imagen. Usualmente, este es un proceso de "ensayo y error" que suelo repetir muchas veces.

Al lograr un resultado que pueda considerar satisfactorio, busco ajustar los niveles de nitidez de la imagen que obtuve, y de ser necesario, modifico los valores de iluminación, brillo, saturación, contraste y otros parámetros.

Finally, I obtained the following image, where you can see that the right wall reveals through the window or opening, a landscape with vegetation and a body of water, probably a river or a lake, giving the impression that the structure is empty inside, or it is a portal that leads to other places.

Although this may not be my best processing work, it would be really valuable for me to know from the participants of this weekly initiative, if the image produces a sensation or not, if it tells a story or not, that is, if with this editing work I managed to communicate something or not.

Finalmente, obtuve la siguiente imagen, donde se puede observar que la pared derecha deja entrever a través de la ventana o abertura, un paisaje con vegetación y un cuerpo de agua, probablemente un río o un lago, dando la sensación que la estructura está vacía en su interior, o se tratase de un portal que conduce a otros lugares.

Aunque tal vez este no sea mi mejor trabajo de procesamiento, para mí sería realmente valioso conocer de los participantes de esta iniciativa semanal, si la imagen les produce alguna sensación o no, si relata alguna historia o no, es decir, si con este trabajo de edición logré o no comunicar algo.
