Photo of the week #151| contest post | Ice / On the Syzranka River

Today I am taking part in a competition Photo of the week #151| contest post | Ice which conducts @mister-omortson.

The photo was taken from a suspension bridge in one of the narrowest and not deepest places of the river. Here its depth is only from 30 to 70 cm. If you look closely, you can see the muddy bottom of the river.

The Syzranka River originates from the village of Karmaleyka in the Baryshsky district of the Ulyanovsk region, its length is 168 km, flows into the Saratov reservoir on the Volga River.

This river is amazing because it is not deep, but fleeting. Therefore, the surface of the water is not covered with ice for a long time.Even at temperatures below 10-12, the current breaks the ice floes and they float like small rafts.

Лёд на реке Сызранка
Фотография сделана с висячего моста в одном из самых узких и не глубоких мест реки. Здесь её глубина всего от 30 до 70 см., если присмотреться, то можно увидеть илистое дно реки.

Река Сызранка берет своё начало у села Кармалейка Барышского района Ульяновской области, её длина 168 км, впадает в Саратовское водохранилище на реке Волга.

Эта река удивительна тем, что она не глубокая, но быстротечная. Поэтому поверхность воды долго не покрывается льдом.Даже при температуре ниже 10-12 течение ломает льдинки и они плавают, как маленькие плоты.
