Hace muchos años atrás existió una leyenda que cautivaba desde el más ingenuo de los artesanos, hasta el más valiente de los aventureros de Lunchislandia. Alguna vez, un misterioso personaje documentó una peculiar travesía suya ¡Talló una concha de mar! Que extraño lugar para plasmar sus ideas. Aparentemente, debes ser muy paciente para tallar a una concha como esta.

Many years ago, there was a legend that captivated from the naivest of the craftsmen, to the bravest of the adventurers of Lunchisland. Once, a mysterious character documented a peculiar journey of his. He carved a seashell! What a strange place to capture his ideas. Apparently, you have to be very patient to carve a shell like this.

Los más antiguos habitantes de aquel pueblo conservaban intacta la escritura de una supuesta aventura, de un sujeto que vagamente recordaban, pero confiaban en que habían compartido con él, en su infancia. Lo recordaban como el más interesante de los habitantes. Donde llegaba compartía sus inigualables experiencias. No le temía a lo desconocido. Era el más atrevido de los pueblerinos.

The oldest inhabitants of that village kept intact the writing of a supposed adventure, of a subject that they vaguely remembered, but trusted that they had shared with him, in his childhood. They remembered him as the most interesting of the inhabitants. Wherever he arrived, he shared his unparalleled experiences. He was not afraid of the unknown. He was the most daring of the villagers.

Describió la más grande hazaña que cualquier humano podía ejecutar ¿Así de espectacular sería? Nadie entendía de dónde provenía aquel especial viajero. Ni sus trapos, cultura o dinero importaban investigar sobre…tal vez la ‘‘dama’’ o el ‘‘caballero’’ ¡Su mayor impacto fue el documento! Quedó como un caprichoso legado. Supuestamente inalcanzable o quizá, no tanto.

He described the greatest feat any human could perform. No one understood where this special traveler came from. Neither his rags, culture or money mattered to research about...perhaps the "lady" or the "gentleman". His greatest impact was the document! It was left as a whimsical legacy. Supposedly unattainable or maybe, not so much.

Impacientaba a todo aquel que lo analizaba. Una vez por año, los aldeanos se proponían trazar la ruta que comenzaría la mayor aventura de sus vidas. Se aferraban a la esperanza porque consideraban que lograr esa fantasía les daría más sabiduría, experiencias y valor como para parecer más interesantes frente a sus seres queridos ¿Los culparías? Si era la más asombrosa travesía. Que nadie entendía por qué quien la comenzaba nunca volvía ¿Tal vez se perdían? ¿No existía un camino correcto? O ¿Les encantaba tanto aquel curioso lugar, como para no volver nunca más? Lo único que con exactitud se sabía era que cualquiera podía atreverse a comenzar su propio destino y, que era un gran motivo que le daba impulso a su corriente vida.

It impressed everyone who analyzed it. Once a year, the villagers set out to chart the route that would begin the greatest adventure of their lives. They clung to hope because they believed that achieving that fantasy would give them more wisdom, experience and courage to appear more interesting to their loved ones. If it was the most amazing journey. That no one understood why whoever started it never came back? Maybe they got lost? Wasn't there a right path? Or, did they love that curious place so much and they never returned? The only thing that was exactly known was that anyone could dare to start his own destiny, and that it was a great reason that gave impulse to his current life.

Pasaron años, pasaron días. Nadie volvía de aquella fantasía ¡Que fenómeno tan extraño sucedía! Un día soleado: resplandeciente y acogedor; un mochilero y su pequeño hermano quisieron descubrir el misterio ¡De una vez por todas se aventurarían! Que emoción tan intensa sentían. Latía su corazón con intensidad, se les erizaba la piel, hablaban en exceso durante su larga caminata. Llevaban provisiones. Se sentían listos para enfrentar el destino que se acercaba. Andaban sin pausa, pero sin prisa. La motivación de continuar era cada vez más intensa porque pasaban los días y experimentaban situaciones loquísimas ¡Divertidas! Pero, loquísimas.

Years passed; days passed. Nobody returned from that fantasy. What a strange phenomenon was happening! One sunny day: bright and welcoming; a backpacker and his little brother wanted to discover the mystery. What intense emotion they felt. Their hearts were pounding, their skin was bristling, they talked excessively during their long walk. They carried provisions. They felt ready to face the coming fate. They walked without pause, but without hurry. The motivation to continue was more and more intense, because the days passed and they experienced crazy situations.

Atravesaron variados reinos. Cada uno era especial.

They crossed various kingdoms. Each was special.

La estructura de uno de ellos estaba formada por hilos de costura. Algunos sueltos, algunos entrelazados ¡La habitaban simpáticos gusanos de seda! También polillas que cambiaron su dieta de hilos de costura, por papelillos de carnaval, y así convivieron en paz con los simpáticos gusanitos ¡Que generosas las polillas!

The structure of one of them was formed by sewing threads. Some of them were loose, some were intertwined. They were inhabited by nice silkworms! Also moths that changed their diet of sewing threads, for carnival papers, and thus lived in peace with the nice little worms. How generous the moths are!

Otro reino estaba completamente afelpado ¡Que ternura de lugar! Visualmente era espectacular, le sobraba el colorido. Estaba habitado por patines y patinetas. No tenían ojos para apreciar su belleza, tampoco tacto para sentir su tierna textura. En sus ruedas se estancaba la felpa, nada grave. Se recuperaban al pasar unas pocas horas.
Saliendo de aquel reino, iniciaba el asombroso castillo chicloso ¡Nada era tan pegajoso! Olía divino, pero había que transitarlo poco a poco. La clave para superar era dar pasos firmes y corto.

Another kingdom was completely plush. What a tender place! Visually it was spectacular, it was colorful. It was inhabited by skates and skateboards. They didn't have eyes to appreciate its beauty, nor touch to feel its tender texture.

Plush was stuck in its wheels, nothing serious. They recovered after a few hours.

¿Suena como poco? No te dejes engañar. Estos hermanos tardaban días en cruzar cada lugar. Se mantenían unidos y conseguían provisiones para poder fortalecerse y continuar.

Does it sound like little? Don't be fooled. These brothers took days to cross each place. They would stay together and get supplies so they could get stronger and go on.

¡Una buena noche llegaron al lugar anhelado! El cielo se veía estrellado, iluminaban el inmenso parque de colchones inflables. Su piso era amarillo como el oro. Tenía formaciones como las de una pequeña ciudad: arcos, columnas, techos puntiagudos y habitaciones con sus propias ventanas. Estaba poblado por pequeños origamis ¡Muy parlanchines! Parecían locutores de radio. Lo único preocupante es que se alimentaban de papel ¡Los hermanos no podían digerir el papel! Pasaron un único día en aquel fantástico lugar porque no les sobraban provisiones. Sin lamentarse se retiraron, mientras celebraban que lograron llegar al lugar anhelado.

One fine evening they arrived at the longed-for place! The sky looked starry, they lit up the immense park of inflatable mattresses. Their floor was yellow as gold. It had formations like those of a small city: arches, columns, pointed ceilings and rooms with their own windows. It was populated by small origami. Very talkative! They looked like radio announcers. The only worrying thing was that they fed on paper. The brothers could not digest the paper! They spent a single day in that fantastic place because they had no supplies left. Without regrets, they left, celebrating that they had made it to the place they had longed for.

Les sobraba entusiasmo y no quisieron volver a Lunchislandia. Sabían que quedaba todo un mundo de aventuras por experimentar fuera de allí. Mientras avanzaban en su travesía, redactaron cartas para los habitantes que llevaban en su corazón. Les aclararon todos los misterios inexplicables. Además, sugirieron que no había nada que temer. Los invitaron a experimentar, atreverse a iniciar aventuras y despegarse de lo que sea que se aferraran en su hogar ‘‘¡Muévanse! Ustedes también son parte del resto del mundo’’.

They were over enthusiastic and did not want to return to Lunchisland. They knew that there was a whole world of adventure left to be experienced outside of there. As they went on their journey, they wrote letters to the inhabitants in their hearts. They cleared up all the unexplainable mysteries. Moreover, they suggested that there was nothing to fear. They invited them to experiment, to dare to start adventures and to detach themselves from whatever they were holding on to in their home ''Move! You are also part of the rest of the world.
