Beautiful Sunday: missing the good old coffee shop.

In the past, or once upon a time, before the lockdown, I used to visit a nice coffee shop to have a treat with my old friend. Things changed very fast after the plandemics, everyone has been affected in one way or another. This year, my favourite coffee shop has to closed down because the shopping mall, the Amazon Plaza, was finally closed down for ‘renovation’. Time has been hard for traditional shopping mall. Many online businesses were making tons of profits during the lockdown.

People lifestyle has changed radically as a result of fear mongering by people with formal authority and high positions. Most people couldn’t look or think behind the camouflage of fear and pretentious solutions to the problem. They became sheep to be herded as the shepherd commanded. The results have been dire and unfortunate for most people.

I could no longer have a nice meeting place with good coffee, home made cakes and friendly atmosphere at very reasonable prices. This coffee shop had operated in that shopping mall for almost twenty years. They served such lovely and aromatic coffee. The home made cakes were freshly baked at the coffee shop.

My favourites were double chocolate and orange cakes. Their apple pies were also quite delicious. Sometimes they had a promotion ‘buy one, get one free’. So, my friend and I both got two cakes each for take-away. Consequently, I gained extra weights and had to reduce my cake intake!

Now I am left with old photos of my good old days at the coffee shop! I don’t know when the owner could find a reasonable rent for her new shop. I did warn her that big investment was not advisable as the future was full of uncertainty. I asked her to wait one more year to see how the economy would improve. So far, the pace has been rather slow. I pray and hope that things will be speeded up a bit in terms of economic improvements and better financial prospects.
