My Second Opening: Unboxing Hunter Packs

I couldn't help but dive deeper into Cryptid Hunter's economics after the excitement of my two Starter Packs. This time I went for the Hunter Pack, which is a more modest choice but nevertheless gives you a lot of value. You may buy a pack of 5 cards for 40 STEEM, but I chose the bundle of five, which gives you 25 cards for 200 STEEM. It was easy to pay with my Steemit wallet. I paid 200 STEEM to @cryptid.pay, confirmed the payment, and then went back to the game to get my rewards.

A Hunter Pack gives you a random combination of common and rare items. I was really excited when I opened my first bundle. The first pack I opened had Hamlictria (Normal), Dra-Q (Rare), Bullet (Normal), Onionmantis (Normal), and a Thundercat (Rare). The common cards each mine 3 NOVA each day, which is useful but not very exciting. The Dra-Q and Thundercat cards, on the other hand, each add 35 NOVA per day and are quite important for increasing overall mining power.

The second bundle had Magicpeng, Onionmantis, Bullet, Atummus (Rare), and another Dra-Q (Rare). Atummus has been a reliable part of my deck with its 35 NOVA/day.

I got more duplicates in the third and fourth packs: more Magicpengs, Hamlictrias, and Onionmantises. Duplicates aren't pretty, but they can be useful for making new things or leveling up. There were also new rare cards, such Razar, the savage boar-like creature with 35 NOVA/day, which occurred twice, and a second Thundercat, which made things even more exciting.

When the fifth pack was empty, there were 25 cards on my table. There were several copies of Magicpeng, Onionmantis, and Bullet; multiple copies of Hamlictria; two Razar cards; two Dra-Q cards; two Thundercats; and another Atummus. I didn't get a unique cryptid this time, but I did get a few rare ones that will make my mining power a lot stronger when I add them to my deck.

My inventory now has five unopened Hunter Packs, seven normal enhancers, fourteen rare enhancers, and more than 240 energy flasks. That's enough to power a lot of upgrades and dungeon runs.

This second opening has shown me that Hunter Packs are the best way to get a lot of material cards and a few rare ones. Every time a new card is revealed, the excitement never fades. Even a duplicate card has a purpose. I'm already planning which rare cards to level up with the enhancers I've found. If I'm lucky, the next thing I buy might be a rare cryptid or two.

You can start your adventure with my referral link: https://chw-steem-ui-two.vercel.app/?ref=CJ1sMK. If you want to try your hand at pack openings or want to help me establish a cryptid empire, this is the place to start. Even though the Hunter Pack is smaller than the Starter Pack, finding new cards is just as exciting.

Good luck hunting!

Greetings @globetrottergcc

I find the progress you've made in this game interesting. I wonder if you could do a post about the first steps to start the game. I'd appreciate it if you could clarify some points, such as:

  • How to generate an attack, and how it affects gameplay.
  • How do you use the first three cards? What are the basic items or accessories we need to buy, and what are they for? I've only seen the one about buying card packs and recharging energy.

I think it would be good to show a post with that content.

Thank you. Sounds interesting. I'd try my best to elaborate the points you mentioned and create a post about it for sure.

Happy evening.

I would appreciate it, some of us don't understand how to approach the game to be more effective.

You are right, at first when I started I even didn't know how would it work and was clicking on the game a few times thinking :) I might need to click and play. Then I called a gamer friend and he explained it being a mining game. The upgrades and synthesis also look a bit tricky unless you do it practically. So we surely need in-depth tutorials to make it simple for steemians who are not much into games.

The cryptid-hunter has got the potential. The moment they add the features like withdrawing steem rewards as well as the option of burning Nova to Steem, it'd add extra flavor to the game economy.

Wow! You bought more hunter packs!!
Great choice as you will get many valuable cards🙇‍♀️

Thank you. I am just trying to be lucky to pull out a legendary :)
