It happens quite often that I take a drive up one of the most well known valleys you will find in southern Norway. This valley is called Setesdalen. The distance is about 150 kilomters from the southern most point which is the city of Kristiansand ( which is where I live). When driving through the valley the road follows more or less the river. The landscape is varied. The mountains becomes taller the further up the valley we get. The drive takes us also through farmland and small villages.

This is a selection of photos along the way. Because there are so many beautilful places it usually takes the whole day back and return. We make so many stops and the weather was great.

When we reached a small place called Brokke, we turned around and drove back to Kristiansand. Brokke is a place with lots of cabins because it's a popular for wintersport, but also for hiking during the summer month.

These photos are from another drive up Setesdalen, but after one hour we did a sidetrip towards Lyngdal. The photos are taken along that stretch late in the afternoon.

The river we followed up Setesdalen is called Otra. It's the largest river that runs in southern Norway. At the end of our drive we are almost back in Kristiansand, where the trip ends. Setesdalen ends here and the river Otra runs out into the sea But before it does that, it divides the city into two parts. But they are connected with several bridges.

Wow, what a beautiful valley and so much vegetation and rivers, I imagine that it must be one of the places to vacation for many, how happy they are to have it and be able to walk along it to enjoy nature and fresh air, the photographs speak for themselves alone

Greetings!
