LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST | Vitosha mountain

We were looking forward to the weekend to climb Vitosha, which is so close and so unknown to us. The route we had planned for Sunday was very promising. To begin with, we stopped by the mountain church. We had reserved times for the visit and the tour guide was waiting for us. A remarkable church with lots of history and charm. We took pictures and moved on.

We set off towards the forest, savoring the pristine beauty and captivating sights hidden within. It had snowed recently and we were dazzled by the whiteness and purity around us. The snow stuck to the boots and made our steps slow and heavy. We hungrily absorbed the crystal clear air and the smell of trees, leaves and vegetation. The memory of the city - the hurried, frowning people, the dirt and the many cars here seemed unreal and even funny.

We moved along the forest path through a tunnel of trees, followed only by the mountain wind. At the "Holy Water" spring, we washed our eyes and continued to the top. Everything around had fallen silent, we had long forgotten about the winter cold. We were completely captivated by perfect nature and felt nothing but bliss and harmony. Among the huge areas with stones / moraines, which were formed at the end of the ice age by the melting and sliding glaciers on the slope / you could hear the rush of water. Opposite - the city - white, big and swimming in smog.

In the distance, our guide showed us the top of the mountain. The road is steep and after a short photo session we headed to the mountain hut.

We couldn't part with this intoxicating and romantic view, but the road was long, and the day was raining... Before we left for home, we had to enjoy the frozen lakes.

After a 3-hour trek, our goal was reached. With great joy, we discovered that there is a tea house on the frosty peak, where we can warm ourselves, drink a hot tea and eat a hot soup. The ride back to the lodge was quick and fun.
