“Pegaso a garabateo”/ "Pegasus scribbled"

-Saludos amigos de WORLD OF XPILAR les presento este dibujo que hice de un Pegaso, el cual lo he valorizado utilizando la técnica del garabateo. El dibujo lo realizado como material de referencia para explicar la técnica de garabatos en las clases de dibujo que imparto.

-Greetings friends of WORLD OF XPILAR I present this drawing that I made of a Pegasus, to which I applied chiaroscuro using the scribbling technique. The drawing was done as a reference material to explain the scribbling technique in the drawing classes that I teach.

Descripción la técnica/ Description of the technique:

-El garabateo es una técnica de valorización que consiste en aplicar el claroscuro utilizando líneas que parten irregularmente hacia todas las direcciones, similar a los garabatos trazados por un bebé. El garabateo puede ser curvo, quebrado, abierto, cerrado y mixto.

-Doodling is a shading technique that consists of applying chiaroscuro using lines that start irregularly in all directions, similar to the doodles drawn by a baby. Scribbling can be curved, broken, open, closed, and mixed.

-No se dejen engañar por la técnica, los garabatos pueden parecer irregulares, pero paradójicamente hay una gran regularidad dentro de su irregularidad, para lograr eso se tienen que seguir algunos parámetros como los siguientes; las líneas no pueden seguir un patrón, no se puede trazar exactamente sobre el trazo anterior y se debe de intercalar de manera constante y radical la dirección de las líneas.

-Don't be fooled by the technique, the scribbles may seem irregular, but paradoxically there is a great regularity within their irregularity, to achieve this, some parameters such as the following must be followed; The lines cannot follow a pattern, it cannot be traced exactly on the previous line and the direction of the lines must be interleaved in a constant and radical way.

Descripción del dibujo/ Drawing description:

-El personaje que represento es una popular criatura de la mitología griega llamada Pegaso. Este animal mitológico es descrito como un hermoso semental blanco con alas, las cuales las utiliza para cabalgar entre las nubes. El tema de representación lo escogí principalmente por dos motivos; el primero por el gran contraste de figura-fondo, sumado a que había que ingeniársela para resaltar el color blanco del Pegaso, el segundo motivo para aprovechar la expresividad de la técnica, el fuerte del garabateo no es la representación realista sino su alta capacidad efectista.

-The character he represents is a popular creature from Greek mythology called Pegasus. This mythological animal is described as a beautiful white stallion with wings which it uses to ride through the clouds. The theme of representation is selected mainly for two reasons; the first due to the great contrast of figure-background, for that reason it had to be managed to highlight the white color of the Pegasus, the second reason was to take advantage of the expressiveness of the technique, since the specialty of scribbling is not realism but its ability to give effects.

Descripción del proceso/ Process description:

- Inicie el dibujo realizando un bosquejo de la criatura, en este caso era innecesario que sea fuera tan detallado debido a que el garabateo no se define con líneas los contornos. Por otro lado, para dar forma al Pegaso trabaje la penumbra del fondo, su tono bajo hace que el caballo emerja de color blanco en la oscuridad, ademas, los tonos altos dan volumen a la figura mitológica.

-Start the drawing by making a sketch of the creature, in this case it was unnecessary for it to be so detailed because the doodle is not defined with lines the contours. On the other hand, to give shape to the Pegasus, work the darkness of the background, its low tone makes the horse emerge white in the dark, in addition, the high tones give volume to the mythological figure.

-El dinamismo de la posición ascendente que toma el Pegaso va muy acorde al estilo de la técnica, ella demanda figuras y poses altamente dinámicas. Como se ve en la imagen se entrecruzan dos triángulos, uno de ellos invertidos, estas líneas reflejan el esquema compositivo que da movimiento al dibujo.

-The dynamism of the ascending position that the Pegasus takes is very consistent with the style of the technique, it demands highly dynamic figures and poses. As seen in the image, two triangles intersect, one of them inverted. These lines reflect the compositional scheme that gives movement to the drawing.

-El fondo no lo construí con una concepción plana, realice algunos garabatos con la intención de reflejar el desplazamiento del caballo en el cielo como si fueras las auras mágicas que le permiten cabalgar en los cielos. En la imagen se muestra parte de estas auras y también al fondo mi firma.

-I did not build the background with a flat conception, make some scribbles with the intention of reflecting the displacement of the horse in the sky as if you were the magical auras that allow riding in the skies. The image shows part of these auras and also my signature in the background.
