The World of XPILAR - CITYSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK #158 - Lost in the hazels.
Standing on the top of the hill at the foot of which the Dniester River meandered I looked at the small Moldavian town on its banks which was buried in green thickets of walnuts.
In order to feel the slight smell of food it is not at all necessary to be on the seashore after a storm it is enough to taste the aroma of hazel leaves.
Squirrels hide nuts in hollows of trees and people hide their houses under walnut trees although those who planted them could hardly imagine that these trees would grow so much then these were small weak shoots which gradually gained strength and covered the whole city.
This combination of typical concrete boxes devoid of everything that can be called architecture and green foliage in a beautiful river valley created a small miracle because it can be called the word beauty although fifty years ago it was more like a wasteland during the beginning of the city development.
Who knows, perhaps in twenty years the photographer standing in the same place as me will no longer see the roofs of houses that are completely hidden under the foliage of trees or, on the contrary someone will suddenly decide that this city too small and the hazel trees will be cut down and concrete structures without a name or identity will take their place.
