Difficult match.

Today, looking through my photo archive, I came across my drawings, which I drew three years ago.

These were modest attempts to recall my childhood passion for drawing, but this was preceded by thirty-five years of translation, during which I did not hold a pencil, or a ballpoint pen in my hand, in order to draw something.

I chose the miniature style and sketched with a ballpoint pen on a small sheet of A5 paper.

Basically, these were satirical stories, less often. I painted nature.

The drawing technique leaves much to be desired, I have not had time to get my hands on shading and there is still a lot of work to be done on understanding perspective, light and shadow, but, I will not be able to move forward if I do not start with something small.

Now, I want to present a drawing that can be called a difficult balance. but, I drew it after a very difficult tennis match.

On that day, our family was invited to a holiday, which was held at a summer camp where children rested.

I saw the tennis tables, where they actively played table tennis and decided to shake the old days.

I was doing pretty well until a young man asked permission to play with me.

He wanted to try playing table tennis for the first time.

I've known him for a very long time, after childhood stress he developed a severe form of autism.

Me, of course. agreed to play.

His movements were awkward and very slow, at first, I tried to slightly strain him with the game, but after the second serve, I realized that something was not as it seemed.

No matter how slow he was, the tennis ball always ended up on his tennis racket and on my field.

You know, what we saw in the movie Forest Gump, I experienced in my own skin.

I lost by a shutout, yes, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't win either my serve or his serve.

Sometimes, the tennis ball teetered on the edge of the net, but it always fell to my side.

Later, the brother of this guy came up and was surprised that he was playing table tennis.

He confirmed that his younger brother never held a tennis racket in his hands, I believe him, members of the same church do not lie to each other.

I have this drawing as a memento of that match.

I did not use a simple pencil for sketching, I drew from the first time.

To be honest, painstaking and delicate work annoys me, but I made titanic efforts on myself.

I had many reasons to breathe a sigh of relief, but each time I had to start a new one, work on myself and the drawing.

I am sure that for an experienced artist there is nothing difficult here, but holding a ballpoint pen in your hand for so long was unbearably painful, it was comparable to the first day in the gym, or the second day after a long run without preparation.

Although I didn't win the tennis tournament, I was able to beat this drawing.
