The Road to the North

Greeting friends.

On Thursday last week, I got into my car, took my granddaughter, and drove towards Arkhangelsk. I had to take my granddaughter to her parents. She was our guest for 2 months. Now summer was over and the granddaughter needed to return home.
The length of the path in one direction is 1200 km. From home to the North, I overcame this path in 15 hours. I drove back for 13 and a half hours.
I was driving back alone, so I almost didn't stop on the way and drove much faster on sections with good coverage. But sometimes my granddaughter wanted to get out of the car and stretch her legs. Of course, it was harder for her to sit in the car for a long time than for me. The granddaughter is only 6 years old.
During one of these stops, I found mushrooms in the forest. They were not the first freshness.

I wanted to show the highway at the challenge organized by @lllll1ll, but apparently, the competition has ended.

On my way, there were areas without a hard surface. I was lucky it wasn't raining. During the rain, overcoming these sections of the road becomes torture. The driving speed has to be dropped to about 30 km/h, otherwise, the car starts to shake violently. It's just hell. In dry weather, dust clouds rise from driving cars. And there is a danger of hitting big stones that often lie on the road. Because of the dust, you can't even see the car going ahead.

The first time I went to my son on this road was in the fall of 2012. We were driving together with the father of the son's wife and changed places during the ride. It was very hard to go. The uncovered areas at that time were about 300 km. We drove for 17 hours! Currently, the length of the unpaved sections is only about 20 km. And I saw that work is underway to improve the condition of the highway.

The city of Bereznik. Moscow-Arkhangelsk highway, M-8. There are always a lot of cars, and trucks at this gas station. At this place, we always traditionally make a stop to have a little lunch in a cafe. 900 km behind, and 300 km ahead.

Well, we ate a portion of pancake, and then I looked back again at the road that was already left behind and drove forward. My son was waiting for me ahead, fishing on a remote lake, a river in the taiga, and other interesting activities.
