| We haven't been making berry jam for several years, about 15 years. We freeze berries in the freezer. Previously, we cull crumpled and diseased berries, leave only high-quality berries, put them in plastic containers of different heights and then put them in the freezer. It turns out very compact. In winter, we periodically take out berries, defrost them naturally and eat almost fresh berries. But we do this only with black and red currants, honeysuckle and blueberries. Strawberries and raspberries are always crushed and sprinkled with sugar, and then frozen. | Мы уже несколько лет, примерно лет 15, не варим варенье из ягод. Мы их морозим в морозилке. Предварительно мы выбраковываем мятые и больные ягоды, раскладываем их по пластиковым контейнерам разной высоты и затем ставим их в морозилку. Получается очень компактно. Зимой мы периодически достаем ягоды, размораживаем их естественным путем и едим практически свежие ягоды. Но так мы делаем только с черной и красной сморолинами, жимолостью и черникой. Клубнику и малину мы мнём и пересыпаем сахаром, а потом замораживаем. |

Отличный способ хранение витаминок!
Я давно отказалась от контейнеров, очень много остается пустот)) жалко место пропадает в морозильной камере, а на ягодниках ягоды)) Я раскладываю в обычные полиэтиленовые пакеты, сворачиваю подписываю и еще в один пакет упаковываю. Очень плотно укладываются, пустот совсем не остается.
Дело в том, что у нас тоже нет пустот. Как раз всё плотно входит и по вымоте и по ширине. Контейнеры такие "одноразовые", типа упаковочные.
Может у нас разные морозилки, поэтому?

Lovely! I made jelly and syrup with mine. I did another little trick where I preserved them in rum. Perhaps you might do something similar in vodka?
There is such a berry - cloudberry. It probably grows in Canada, too. It is preserved with vodka. Put berries in a three-liter jar and pour a little vodka. Berries stay fresh for a long time.

I have been working. It is taking up a lot of time. Maybe I should retire?
We say - if vodka interferes with work, then quit work.

My wife has been saying for 2 years - I need to quit my job, I need to look for a new job. She is still 3 years away from retirement. According to Putin's new law, women retire at 60, but if you have 3 children, you can retire at 57. She and I have three children.
Men officially retire at 65 . I'm afraid I won't live to retire.
We no longer have forced retirement and it is now law that our employer cannot fire us for being old.
I have to admit that I might enjoy being forced to retire. Heh heh. I'm not old enough yet.
They don't force us to retire either. But people themselves want to be pensioners. We may not be hired because of age. The employer wants to see young, healthy, active young workers.
Last year, many young and active guys left the country with their families. This is due to the events in Ukraine. The guys don't want to go to war.
There is a big shortage of workers now. Many men were mobilized to the front. Our president does not see any problems in the country, he lives in another space-time space, in some kind of fictional world of his own.
I saw in the news that many new men were sent to the front in recent days. I believe the people that fled were right. If everyone refuses to fight, this mess will soon end.
The State Duma is going to adopt a law on the seizure of property from people who have left. There was a saying in the Soviet Union, it remained the same in the Russian Federation: "We need a victory, despite the huge price of this victory."
The Supreme Ruler will make any sacrifice to maintain his Power.
People have muddied their minds that this is "patriotism" and many people are like sheep ready to sacrifice their lives for the sake of his Greatness. They consider him almost Jesus in our time, there is even an expression: "Putin is Russia."
Yummy! We use frozen berries in our smoothies.
Yesterday we bought frozen berries, beetroot and pineapple juice.
It was so refreshing to drink in the heatwave we are currently experiencing.
