The story of Zimbabwe's last match loss

Zimbabwe lost the series three times in a row despite showing surprise by defeating India in the first match. Sikandar Raja's team could not turn around even in the last match.

Zimbabwe lost by 42 runs in the fifth match at Harare Sports Club on July 14. Batting first, India scored 167 runs for 6 wickets. In reply, Zimbabwe were all out for 125 runs in 18.3 overs, ending the five-match series 4-1.

It was India's first bilateral series after a 17-year-long wait to become T20 world champions for the second time. The series was not that important for India as the opponent was Zimbabwe. They sent a young team led by Gill. But in the first match, India lost to Zimbabwe, who did not get a chance in the World Cup. However, the Gills proved their mettle in the subsequent matches.

India did not give any chance to Zimbabwe even in the fourth match after securing the series by winning three consecutive matches. Yasswi Jaiswal hit a six on the first ball of the day. However, Sikandar did not allow Jaiswal to ride. Jaiswal departed after scoring 12 runs off 5 balls. India lost three wickets for 40 runs. Abhishek Sharma (14) and Shubman Gill (13) were out for short runs.

Then Sanju Samson and Ryan Parag made a partnership of 65 runs. Parag was dismissed for 22 runs but Samson scored 58 runs. Shivam Dube scored 26 runs off 12 balls in the end to take India's score to 167 runs.

In response, Zimbabwe could not survive in front of the Indian bowlers. Mukesh Kumar alone took 4 wickets for 22 runs. Dion Myers scored the maximum 34 runs for Zimbabwe. Apart from this, Tadiwanshe Marumani and Faraz Akram were dismissed for 27 runs.

Despite the series ending with this loss, the Zimbabwean team is determined to continue their fight.
