Today I am going to share my opinion about some of favorite srilankan foods which you should try. Sri lanka is a country which owns many spicy yummy dishes. As a south asian country we use many spices in making food. And it gives a unique taste for our dishes. If you are a native srilankan or you are coming as a tourist you should try some of our unique foods!

Lets have a look to some of them.

01.KOTHTHU

Koththu is one of the famous food in sri lanka. All love to eat spicy yummu koththu for their dinner. There are differant kind of koththu like egg koththu, chicken koththu, vegetable koththu ,mix koththu , and cheese koththu etc. Some how the main ingredient of this dish is same. Its made out of koththu roti and vegetables and egg ,meat, cheese as your wish. Koththu is a brilliant food for dinner. And when we feel the smell of it. Its mouth watering. This little bit spicy. But I have seen foreigners also love to eat srilankan koththu. When the Koththu accompany with Cola its gives heaven taste.
Therefore , dont miss to try this unique sri lankan dish when you visit sri lanka.

2. MILK RICE

Milk rice is one of the staple food in sri lanka. And also its a symbol of prosperity .
In celebrative occasions people always prepare milk rice. This is a very easy food to prepare and this is mainly made out of rice and milk( it can be coconut milk or fresh milk)
This gives a a milky taste and we eat milk rice with Katta sambol , fish ambul tyal etc.
Mainly we have milk rice for breakfast but you can have it any time as your wish. In sri lanka we add differant grains and stuff in making milk rice. And the name also change according to the ingredients. This is not spicy. Therefore ,anyone can tryout this. From my childhood this is one of my favorite dish.

3. EGG HOPPERS

Oh! This. This is super yummy food you must taste. This can be take as a staple food. As well as a snack. Mainly made out of rice flour. It has a unique shape. And this also not much spicy. Anyone can try this. This is delicious as well as nutritious . I recommend this for dinner. As this is not much heavy.this has a milky taste with egg taste. If you are a sri lankan you definetly know about this food . This can be eat with lunu miris or fish/ chicken gravy.somehow this also among top ten foods you should try in sri lanka. And this is a kind of street food.
Not much expensive .you can buy and eat from many places . And also you can make at home.
