폭염 속에서도 제 갈 길 가는 밤송이
처서가 지났건만, 햇살은 여전히 한여름처럼 뜨겁지요. 그래도 자연은 시계를 잊지 않는 듯해요. 지난해 같은 자리에서 8월 22일에 보았던 밤송이를, 올해는 딱 사흘 늦게 25일 다시 만났습니다.
폭염이 아무리 기승을 부려도 밤송이는 초록 가시를 열고 제 철을 알리네요. 마치 ‘나는 내길를 간다’는 자연의 선언 같아요.
손바닥 위에 올려둔 반질반질한 밤알을 보니, 땀에 젖은 일상도 잠시 달콤해지는 기분이 듭니다. 인간이 계절의 속도를 탓할 때도, 자연은 늘 묵묵히 순환의 길을 걸어가는 거지요.
오늘 새벽비가 폭염의 기세를 조금은 꺾어주길 바래봅니다. 그리되면 밤송이의 계절을 한결 여유롭게 즐길 수 있겠지요.
