Xapo is a company founded by WencesCasares in 2013. It was a leader in Bitcoin security and financial services in that time. The company’s mission was to bridge the gap between Bitcoin and traditional financial systems. They aimed to make crypto more accessible & usable for everyday transactions. Xapois just a combination of a Bitcoin wallet and a cold storage vault. In 2014, Xapo announced the launch of its Bitcoin-based prepaid card.

The card was known as the Xapo Card. This card allowed users to convert their Bitcoin into traditional fiat currencies (such as USD, EUR, or GBP) and spend it at any merchant that accepted standard debit or credit cards. This is a groundbreaking work for the bitcoin network. It is a practical solution to one of the most significant challenges facing Bitcoin at the time as the acceptance of bitcoin was limited as a medium of exchange.
