Decentralized Content Distribution system

in Tron Fan Club3 months ago

A decentralized Content Distribution system is like a network where files and data are shared directly between users. There is no central authority to control everything. It's kinda like how peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing works, but on a larger scale and for various types of content beyond just files. One real-life example is BitTorrent. Do you know that thing you might have used to download movies or music?

It's a classic P2P system where users download and share chunks of files from each other, rather than from a single server. This decentralized approach not only speeds up downloads (because you're getting pieces from multiple sources) but also reduces the load on any single server. The chance of a server being down is basically zero in this system as the chance of all the computers to be down at a time is impossible.

BitTorrent alone accounted for around 3% of global downstream and 22% of upstream traffic as of a few years ago. That's a huge chunk of data being shared directly between users without relying on centralized servers. It shows how powerful decentralized systems can be in distributing content efficiently across the internet. Let’s say there are a million users in the system. All the files let's say 1 million GB is the total file size. So they will split and store all the computers for 1 GB each. In download time, files will be downloaded from available servers.

So, decentralized content distribution isn't just a cool concept; it's already a big player in how we share and consume digital content worldwide.
