Is crypto responsible for the arrest of the CEO of Telegram?
Last weekend saw negative news enter crypto where Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov was arrested in France. Since then, the price of Telegram's native tokens and Ton Blockchain's coins have started to decline and have fallen by more than twenty percent. And given the subsequent criminal charges, much remains uncertain. In particular, it remains to be seen how the high-stakes drama will affect Telegram's massive crypto ambitions. Most importantly, native tokens and cryptos have started to circulate across the Telegram and Ton blockchains.
This year in particular has become the most prominent company to jump into the cryptosphere with both feet through popular social apps. That's because the recently resurfaced influential messaging service has fueled the proliferation of an ecosystem of on-chain, in-app games and services powered by Telegram's preferred blockchain, The Open Network (TON). It has been making quite an impact in the crypto world, especially recently with the release of its negative tokens Knot and Dogs via Telegram. The ability for users to earn crypto rewards, primarily through token airdrops, has increased its expansion in recent times. For example, how many popular games are running through airdrop recently.
And due to such airdrops and token rewards, the number of users is increasing day by day. However, the complaint filed against Telegram CEO Pavel Durov does not mention cryptocurrencies. However, after his arrest, he was later charged with illegal content such as child pornography and drug sales. The timing of the complaint allegedly comes amid Telegram's aggressive push to offer a central offering of crypto-backed financial services. The currently popular social media app allows its users to transact in a dollar-backed currency that doesn't fluctuate nearly as much as TON's native token. Stablecoins also have a long track record of fueling illegal activity because of this.
Despite this week's uproar on crypto-Twitter, Durov's arrest has protected user privacy. Telegram and Durov may now be in trouble less because of crypto technology and more because of embodying similar anti-establishment attitudes. Such incidents fueled the crypto industry and made Telegram's CEO a free speech icon. Nowadays it has become one of the most popular apps in the field of crypto and it currently does not provide its information to anyone. So there is a suspicion about transactions in the field of crypto and there are allegations that illegal activities or illegal activities are going on through the use of such apps and unethical activities.

One of the things I really notice is the fact that there is a whole lot of envy towards the owner of telegram and so there is every plan to bring him down and trust me they will not succeed
I don't think Crypto is responsible for this arrest of Telegram CEO and it is just something else that has been used by different government to arrest him.
