The real identities of these individuals are not disclosed. Syntribos and Finch are recognized as the founders of the project, with Syntribos having a background in cryptocurrency investment since 2013 and Finch being the artist responsible for the Quirkies art.

The public minting of the Quirkies Originals collection of 5,000 NFTs occurred on February 22, 2022, on the Ethereum blockchain. The cost of minting was 0.005 ETH. During the initial minting process, there was a limit of 2 mints per whitelist spot and 5 mints per account during the public sale. The collection was then traded on secondary markets, with an average price of 1.4 ETH in March 2022, 1.3 ETH in June 2022, and 1 ETH in October 2022 and February 2023.
