Nakamigos NFT Collection : Launched by HiFo Labs in March 2023, the Nakamigos NFT Collection features 20,000 pixelated avatars. The name 'Nakamigos' is a combination of Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonym of Bitcoin's creator, and 'amigo', the Spanish word for 'friend'. Following the success of Nakamigos, several derivative projects emerged, including 'Nakamigos' and 'Magamigos'. While the project is rumored to be linked to cryptopunks creator Larva Labs for aesthetic reasons, Nakamigos' founders have denied any connection.
Now let's try to give some history of the Nakamigos NFT collection: HiFo Labs, the anonymous collective responsible for the Nakamigos NFT collection, has been involved in many other NFT and digital art projects in the past. Custom smart contracts for the Nakamigos project were developed by WestCoastNFT. In March 2023, rumors spread that Haifo Labs was run by Larva Labs, creators of Bored Ape Yacht Club and Cryptopunks, due to perceived similarities between the collections. However, HiFo Labs denied these rumours.
The artist behind the Nakamigos NFT collection has chosen to remain anonymous. There is also some speculation in the community that the artist of the collection could be Sartoshi, an NFT influencer and crypto artist, due to the close relationship between the emergence of Nakamigos Collection in the NFT space and the history of Sartoshi.
