CryptoPhunks NFT Collection : CryptoPhunks, also known as Phunks, is a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) collection on the Ethereum blockchain, launched in June 2021 by anonymous developers. The project involved the flipping of 10,000 CryptoPunks images. After facing copyright infringement issues and being banned from the OpenSea platform, the Phunk community created their own marketplace, NotLarvaLabs, and open-sourced the code. The project is run by a decentralized community of artists and builders, without designated developers, leaders, or roadmaps.

Now I will try to tell some history of CryptoPhunks NFT collection: In July 2021, the developers and founding members of the team abandoned the project without transferring the smart contract, social media accounts, or the 496 CryptoPhunks NFTs in the dev wallet. The original creator of Cryptopunks, a developer known as ZAGABOND associated with Azuki, identified himself in May 2022 and transferred the smart contract ownership, 496 CryptoPhunks, and $1.44M from royalties to the Phunks community. This revelation was the result of extensive research by Phunks community members Kiosko, Jpeg Papi, hwonder, and Pauly.

This self-organized group from the Phunks community continued to build, innovate, and attract developers interested in a decentralized Web3 environment. The community is composed of artists and builders who create free-use, public domain art. The community also maintains a treasury for funds collected from auctions
