Steemit Engagement Challenge S9-W1: "Art in Food"
Greetings to all steemains!!
I hope you all are good and enjoying your lives. First I would like congratulate team Steem Iron Chef for hosting steemit Engagement Challenge Season 9. I really like this contest of the week because it taking out a chef from everyone and for this every participant is trying to utilize his artistic skills.
Here I'm going to make a stuffed bread for this contest that can be used as lunch, as snacks or as dinner. It is very delicious recipe I'm sure you will like it and it is very presentable too.
Let's move on to the recipe
INGREDIENTS
For Bread
ingredients | quantity |
---|---|
All purpose flour | 2cups |
Yeast | 1'1/2tbsp |
Egg | 1 |
Oil | 4-5tbsp |
Salt | as per taste |
Sugar | 1tbsp |
Milk | 1/4cup |
For Filling
Ingredients | quantity |
---|---|
Chicken boiled | 1cup |
AL purpose flour | 1/3cup |
Milk | 1cup |
Black pepper | 1tsp |
Chili flacks | 1 tsp |
Salt | as per taste |
Onion chopped | 1 small |
Capsicum chopped | 2tbsp |
Vinegar | 2tbsp |
Soy sauce | 2tbsp |
Oil | 4tsp |
Procedure
For Dough
Take out all above ingredients for dough.
Mixed then well in a bowl.
Keed the dough properly until all ingredients mixed and forming a smooth dough.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and leave it for 5-6 hours or until it becomes double.
For Stuffing
- Add chopped onions in oil and cook it until it becomes translucent.
- Now add flour to the pan and fry it for 2min than add milk to the pan and mixed well and cook for 2-3 min
- Add boiled shredded chicken in the milk mixture.
- Now add salt, black paper, chili flakes according to the amount give above or as per your taste.
- Add chopped Capsicum, vinegar and soya sauce to the pan and cook it.
- Now cook it for just 2 minutes and cover it with lid.
Assembling
- When the dough becomes double take it out from bowl, knead it to take out air from it. Place some oil to make it smooth. Now roll it by dusting flour on it and make it big . It should not be very thin.
- Place a good amount of chicken filling over the flat dough.
- Make equal cuts with knife on both side of filling like I showed in these pictures.
- Fold these strips over one another and making it's shape like a nice braid.
- Brush beaten egg over this braid and place it over on greesed oven try.
- Now sprinkle black seeds and seasomseeda over it.
- Place it in preheated over at 180°C for 20 minutes. Check it before taking out from oven.
Now Chicken stuffed braid is ready to served.

Cooking time : 25-30 minutes
Severing size :2-3 person
