LearnWithSteem: How to Make Buns
Greetings Chefs!
Because there are so many benefits of sharing good information / ideas and the most common ones are knowledge and growth. I decided to share my unique buns recipe today with all the chefs on steemit platform.
Why do I call this unique?, This is because the buns recipe I'm about to share is not just the regular. The snack is one of the popular street snacks in my country (Nigeria), most people can easily make the regular one with the normal recipe everyone knows and simple ingredients they lay their hands on.
With the methods and the ingredients used, my buns didn't soak up so much oil when I was frying and when it was also ready. It gives me the smooth and crunchy look outside and soft inside when I broke it into two.
Now, let's get to see the ingredients used and methods of preparation.

Sugar | 1 cup |
Vegetable oil | 6 table spoons |
Egg | 4 |
Flour | 4 cups |
Baking powder | 2 tea spoons |
Salt | 1/2 tea spoon |
Vegetable oil | Desired quantity for frying |
Preparation Methods
This recipe is easy to make, just follow the procedures carefully and I believe you will have a perfect result at the end.
Step 1: Measure sugar and put in a bowl.

Step 2: Add vegetable oil.
Step 3: Add your egg and mix it well.

Step 4: Measure all your dry ingredients (flour, salt and baking powder), mix it together and sieve.

Step 5: Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix it.

Step 6: Start molding your dough.

Step 7: Set your pan, put vegetable oil and start frying by dropping your dough carefully in the hot oil.

Please Note;
- Don't put too much dough in the oil when frying.
- Oil should not be too hot when putting the dough into it.
- Put little oil at a time (you can likely top the oil little by little)
- When frying a new batch make sure you use low heat and increase it back for proper cooking.
Step 7: When it is golden brown and you notice that the buns are floating atop, bring it out because it shows that it's ready.
Yummy and ready!
This snacks can be served with soft drink, tea or coffee. It is very easy to make and it will be a great idea to add it to kids' lunchbox and also keep some at home for visitors or household use.
