The joy of motherhood is the title of my presentation today. In a land where people are seen as an outcast simply because they couldn't bear a child in there first two years of marriage is the case of Adanma. It all started a few years ago when John took Ada to his family declaring his intention to marry her.

Some part of the family members argued and told him to impregnate her first before marrying her because they have heard that the family of the lady doesn't give birth to children. It was a tough decision for John but since he loved Ada so much he didn't want her to be pregnant before the Marriage.

He discussed with his wife to be and they agreed to only have a child when they are officially married. As time passes by they both got married also John played deaf ears to the advices from some of his family members.

The first year came and gone and their was no cry of a baby in the house. Those who told him to impregnate before marrying her came up and sainwe have told you before now. The humiliation and maltreatment that Ada started getting from the family and neighbours became even worse because she was seen as unfruitful woman.

The first year came and gone and then there came another year and there is still no cry of a baby in the house. It become a thing of concern for the man and the woman and that made them visit different hospital to check if there is anything wrong but all effort to find a fault from any of them proved abortive.

This was when they knew it was the hand of God since they are health physically and mentally. They decided to trust in God and keep praying and hoping. Two months later, Ada became sick and was rushed to the hospital only for the doctor to confirm that she was two month gone. The joy and happiness within the man and his wife was endless. They kept it a secret from everyone including their parents and those that called her barren.

After some months, she gave birth to a bouncing baby girl and the joy in her was overwhelming. The image above is a sample image of Ada's feeling while carrying her first fruit. Everyone who had called her an outcast and a barren woman couldn't help but to come and greet her and also see the beautiful baby.

Adanma who was initially called barren has become a mother and a proud one for that matter because they child looks so beautiful that everyone wishes to touch or hold her.
