SEC-19, W6 |" How are social medias affecting our society in both good and bad ways?"
Today I wanted to write for this contest that is running by Hindwhale Community , here is the link if you are also interested:
Social media is slowly integrated into our life and we can not imagine our day without being connected to the virtual world. We all have some people who we know living in other part of the world and speaking completely different language and we have no problem with that and often we find the most closest friends on other side of screen but also other side of the world.
There are many different social media platforms, the popular and well known are X which is ex-Twitter, Instagram, Skype, Tik Tok, What's up, Telegram and so on. I believe there are many more of such social media platforms that appearing on daily basis but not many get through the hard competitive market.
The benefits what I notice and enjoy are:
there are some of family members and friends who live in other countries on of the best way to get in touch and have a simple conversation is What's up that works using Internet so once you have flatrate for Internet and good connection you can reach your fmaily members and have long chats without worrying about the price of telephone calls. You also can send photos and have videocall, that you never were able to imagine about 20+ years ago
the companies enjoy their corporate meetings that can be share using Skype or MS Teams no matter where you are and what time it is in other countries
many organisation tend to organise now meetings using MS Teams, that is one of the easiest way for us at our work place to get connected to different centres and avoid travelling for training but still access it locally
There are always people who do not like something in other people or they may stalk others or cause fraud. The social media give a possibility to do it under created Pseudonyms often you do not need to give your personal data and also you use the nickname. But people who post their own stuff and photos then may get them stolen and also someone can use it in their criminal intend.
People can harass others and spoil their reputation without being convicted for that, that usually happens in school with young people who are naive and often can be tricked out in Net by others who may pretend to be their age youth. Often while sharing own personal content they could be found by people and used with bad intention, influencing people even like it was a case of making young people to commit a suicide.
Yes, it is useful and beneficial nowadays to have social media for general knowledge, to spread important news but also for employers to get qualified people even in some cases from other countries but who are knowledgeable and where the enterprises could benefit from it.
Slowly I got used to social media and its benefits, but it is always important to know how much you need and how much you should invest in social media. That should not replace your friends and family, do not forget about people who love you and who are there for you, because despite of friends on social media they are far away and we still do not them so well.
Try not to be addicted to social media and check it all the time days and nights. Have some break for weekend and if you take in a small doses they both will benefit you and your friends.

This is quite easier for you to say because you are now grown up but trust me, your kids and grandkids will really have a hard time staying off social media.. it’s not easy at all..😊😊
Me, i try to stay away from it once in awhile by keeping my phone away from me but once I manage to get close to my phone, if I’m alone, social media becomes my best friend..
Yes, that is true, we are grown in different times and often the children know more than parents and definitely more than grandparents, which is very helpful for them. At least this way can grandchildren help their grandparents too :)
Social media is really affecting us negatively I am so sure of that beyond the positivity right and that is how it is
I think slowly we are moving towards accepting social media like something that is a part of our society. There is no way back but then the only save way is to be more careful with using the social media and not trusting too much.

Exactamente, el detalle de las redes sociales está en cuanto tiempo invertimos en ella y con que fin.
Son obvias todas sus ventajas y beneficios en función de los usuarios, sin embargo no hay que olvidar el peso que tiene y su influencia en todos nosotros.
Por eso la conciencia y la responsabilidad a la hora de usar redes sociales son importantes para que nos aprovechemos de ella al máximo pero sin dejar de lado lo importante que es vivir el presente con nuestras seres queridos y el contacto físico tan necesario.
