Assalamu Alaikum everyone. Hope everyone is safe and well wherever they are. I am happy to publish my participation entry in the Steemit Engagement Challenge Season-19/ Week-5 organized by Hindwhale Community. This week we have been given the challenge Why is gender equality necessary? I think this is a very important topic in the world today.

What does gender equality entail, and what are the advantages?

Gender equality refers to the equal rights of people, human love, basic needs, treating people as human beings rather than judging them differently. Gender equality does not create differences between people but strives to achieve human rights which are very important for people living in the society.

For gender equality, women, men or third gender people who are neglected in the society will have equal rights. One thing to remember is that for the development of society or the state, people must forget the discrimination that leads to gender equality. By doing this, people of all gender will get equal rights which is essential for every free human being.

Is gender equality crucial for all people, not just women?

Yes, gender equality is important for all people. We only remember male and female while determining the gender of people but the third gender is the most neglected in our society. However, if we consider the aspect of men and women here, it can be seen that women are deprived of their rights in different parts of the society. But in that case if there is gender equality then everyone can understand their rights.

Every people in a free country wants to realize their rights so every people can realize their rights only when there is gender equality among them. Gender equality does not discriminate between men and women but considers all human beings as one race and requires understanding of each other's rights. So I think gender equality is important to forget gender differences to run a better society.

What are your thoughts on gender equality, specifically concerning the circumstances in your country?

In terms of the situation in my country, gender equality is important in my eyes. Earlier in our Bangladesh men got their right but women were deprived. But looking at the current social system, it is seen that women are prioritized at all levels in our country. I myself am a woman and I am a government official. But even a few years ago, women did not have these facilities. But despite all these I cannot say that women are not neglected in this society. Because in some parts of the country women still do not get their due rights which is quite sad. Although nowadays the contribution of women in government jobs or various social welfare works can be seen everywhere where women's rights have been guaranteed.

How to educate our children to understand this issue?

Men and women can be compared to the two wheels of a bicycle where if one of the wheels is dropped, the bicycle stops moving. This example seems apt for our children. Because our children will learn the way we teach, and if there is creativity in our teaching, they will also gain a better understanding of that thing. Also they need to be informed about the current world situation where the role of women is also immense in improving the outside world including our country. We have to teach our children that there is no difference between men and women in work, but if everyone can work together, then it is possible to achieve success in that work.

Talking about our Bangladesh, our former prime minister of Bangladesh was a woman and the presence of women in parliament or minister was also noticeable among them. Also, women have contributed in different law and order or military forces to run the country. They are working shoulder to shoulder with men in the service of the country. There are many other examples where men and women work together to improve the country. Therefore, there is no opportunity to discriminate between men and women, but we have to work in harmony with each other in the service of the country and the nation. If we can teach these things to our children then they will be aware of gender or equality between men and women.
