Hello everyone,
It's your favorite Steemian @rakiya from Nigeria and I'm delighted to join in this contest organized by @jyoti-thelight in this noble community today. It's a wonderful contest and I love to share my participation in it.

Once again, I appreciate the organizer of this contest in the person of @jyoti-thelight because the contest not only helps me to grow my SP it also gives me what to write for the day. Today I will be showing some basic steps that I used to power up my Steem.

So if you are new to the Steemit platform or have no idea how you can perform the power-up, the procedure below will guide you. Follow it religiously and you will get the message properly.

Click on the drop-down option close to the Steem token you have available in your wallet as you can see from the screenshot below and select the power-up option.

Enter the amount of Steem you wish to convert to Steem power and then click on the power up option as seen in the screenshot below.

Confirm the transfer to vesting as seen in the screenshot below and then click on the OK button to proceed.

Check the wallet after the entire process and see if the amount of Steem has been transferred to vesting by checking if there is an increase on your SP. See the screenshot below.

Write the importance of performing powerup.

Powering up Steem helps us to build our SP and also to perform a lot of activities on the platform. With Power Up, we will be able to join a lot of things such as contests, work as community curators, and even earn more curation rewards.

The Steemit team also supports power and that is the reason why we have different club statuses like Club 5050, 75, and 100. These are different levels of power-up which are encouraged by the team.

You can see that in contests, for your entry to be valid, you must be in a club status, and that is the main reason why we need to power up and also help the price of Steem to appreciate more. Constant power-up helps us to hold more Steem and with more Steem power we will earn more curation reward.
