I'm very happy to still be able to participate in a very interesting contest from Team Steemit in which the Steemit community is the one that provides this interesting contest. In this week with the theme;

Steemit Engagement Challenge S6 - W2: "What steps would you take to save the soil?"

The steps would I take to save the soil"

The current reality is that one-third of the world's land has been damaged or degraded. This land damage is triggered by various reasons which are very sad for us to know such as deforestation, erosion, pollution, climate change, and other processes caused by land management practices by irresponsible parties. As we know that the land is the base where we live and the habitat of the life of creatures in this world.

The earth is getting old, this is a term we often hear today. Productivity carried out by humans in utilizing land continuously makes its structure and function change. It used to be said by our parents that mountains are the nail of the world, so many large plants grow there which serve to be the natural foundation of the land.

Soil damage is also environmental damage, land is where we stand

We can see environmental damage by reducing water and soil resources resulting in drought everywhere, increasing air pollution so that we currently lack 30% oxygen, and the extinction of flora and fauna which is an important cycle in natural ecosystems.

But what have we seen lately? Natural disasters occur everywhere, floods, forest fires, even landslides often become our loyal friends. This year's rain intensity is considered to be very high, causing soil erosion and causing significant soil movement. We must protect our environment so that natural ecosystems can be maintained properly.

We can see environmental damage from 2 main factors;

Occurs due to natural factors

We can see natural factors that cause environmental damage such as volcanic eruptions, tornadoes, earthquakes, tsunamis and other natural disasters that can cause environmental damage.

Happens due to Human Actions

The extraordinary impact of environmental damage caused by human activity is triggered by human activities or actions that are not environmentally friendly and only want to gain profit.

Human activities such as logging forests, forest burning activities, throwing garbage into rivers, can cause serious soil damage, even rice fields that have been planted with rice and harvested have to wait several months to return to being plowed again. Soil is also alive, and land gives us life from it, shady plants, fresh vegetables, clean water, even being the main ingredient for making houses.

The Importance of Taking Care of the Soil

This is just an illustration to us of how important land is for our survival. Soil is formed in several stages that are formed over a period of up to hundreds of years. It starts with the weathering of the rocks which will then be entered by water and air. Due to the presence of water and air, living things such as mosses and microbes start to grow there.

The roots of these plants then enter into the rock and then destroy it which then becomes the mineral elements that form the soil. This humus is the main element so that the soil becomes fertile so that large plants can grow well, and as I said, it takes a long time. It is better for us to keep it fertile than to destroy it.

Let's Take Care of the Environment

We cannot do environmental damage alone, but we can start from ourselves and we can minimize current damage to the soil in a number of appropriate ways such as;

1. Applying the 4R Principles (reduce, reuse, recycle, and Replant)

This principle is to reduce the use of useless items by reusing items that can still be used by recycling goods or waste into useful items and hoarding waste.organic waste for composting.

2. Reforestation

Reforestation or planting new seeds to grow and prevent deforestation that causes a lack of oxygen intake. As the saying goes that ** Forests are the lungs of the world **.

3. Bioremediation

Bioremediation is the utilization of microbes or plants from contamination. This effort can deal with factory waste, which is increasingly operating. Factories do not have to dispose of their waste into seas or rivers so that it will damage natural ecosystems on land and at sea.

4. Land Rehabilitation

efforts to restore the land ecologically. The mining companies are continuously dredging the land until the land becomes barren and dead so this rehabilitation is also an effort to restore the physical environment so that it can function again.

5. Beach Reclamation

Coastal reclamation is a coastal restoration effort to save critical land into more productive land. This critical land is caused by humans who continuously mine sand without thinking about the risks that will be accepted by the environment.

World Soils Day

We can clearly see that up to now, there are many natural disasters which are mostly caused by human activities. Mothers lose their children, lose their homes, great losses to the point where their lives are at stake. We must remember that the damage to the soil can increase over time.

Therefore, let's keep our environment healthy, free of waste, neat and clean and balance it with real action in caring for the earth, the ground on which we stand. Therefore, for the sake of educating the public about the importance of soil for the continuation of our lives, commemoration of World Soil Day was initiated by the International Union of Soil Sciences (IIUSS), 2002. Furthermore, the Food and Agriculture Organization/FAO with the support of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Global Soil Partnership inaugurated December 5 as and December 5, 2014 was the commemoration for the first time.

some people lack knowledge, so the land cannot be maintained properly. therefore let's take care of the land together so that we can prosper in farming 😊

You are right friend...
Thank you for your nice comment, success always for you 👍

This problem has become the current national problem. If the soil is not preserved, the crop production will be disrupted, on the other hand, the balance of the ecosystem will be disturbed and the existence of the living world will be full of crisis. So we all should be aware to maintain the balance of the environment.

Yeah, the ecosystem Will be disturbed and we can't life by well each other..
Thanks you for your stopping by on my post brother...

Hola amiga, el cuidar nuestro suelo es tarea de todos ya que con un suelo fértil aumenta la calidad de los alimentos que se siembran, encantada de leerte.

Saludos y éxitos en el desafió.

Thank you for your nice comment sista, you are exactly right...
Always success for you
😘

Hello @liasteem, I think that all soil recovery activities are important, but I am very much in favor of reforestation. I think that this should be a kind of law whereby each soil that has suffered damage due to use, the community is responsible for reforesting it.

Excellent post friend.

Thank you very much for your nice comment dear, you are absolutely right, we must keep our environment,..
Hope you always in success... 🤗😘

Terima kasih untuk undangannya kak,
Sepertinya Saya akan berpikir juga untuk menulisnya.

Salam sukses untukmu

Itu bagus sayang... Waktu tania bobok mungkin.. 😁

Hahaha,,,,
akan saya pikirkan

  • Crop production will be interrupted if the soil is not conserved. On the other hand, the ecosystem's equilibrium will be upset, and the life of the living world would be full of crises. We should all be conscious of maintaining the environment and nature safe. You made a valid argument, which I appreciate. I appreciate your participation.

Consider your four guiding principles, which are to "reduce, reuse, recycle, and replant," as a great strategy to fight soil contamination. Good luck.

Yes, 4R Cycle is very important. 4R cycle if implemented in a proper way then it can change our whole polluted environment into a pure and healthy environment.
