It's another day of the week and I'm delighted to participate in this contest today organized by @jyoti-thelight which talks about HWC Contest #37|| POWERUP & WIN WEEK 28. I will be making my entry below so read through it and drop your valuable comment as it will be appreciated.

Powering up our Steem is a great way to build our account and even the Steemit team support this initiative very well and that is the main reason we have club status. I'm a proud member of Club 5050 which means I power up 50% of my earnings and I withdraw 50% as well.

The process which I used to carry out the power-up of 55.877 Steem can be seen below. For those who don't know how to power up their Steem, they can follow the procedure below as I used a clear screenshot to explain all the steps involved.

Basic Steps to Power up our Steem

Firstly, go to your wallet and log in using your private active key. When you have done that, you will see your wallet in the format of the screenshot below.

Secondly, click on the drop-down menu close to the Steem as seen in the screenshot below and then click on the power-up option among the list of options that are displayed.

Thirdly, enter the amount of Steem you wish to convert to Steem power and then click on the power-up option as you can see from the screenshot below.

Fourthly, click on the ok button to confirm your transfer to vesting as seen from the screenshot below.

Lastly, go back to your wallet and check to see if the Steem you transferred to vesting has added up. The screenshot below shows it.

Write the importance of performing powerup.

As I have said earlier in the introductory part of this publication, powering up our Steem is a very important aspect of building our account here on the Steemit platform. This is one of the initiatives that is strongly encouraged by the Steemit team.

Today on the platform we have different club statuses and all these are a result of powering up. If you are in Club 5050 it means you will power up 50% and withdraw 50%, for Club 75, you will power up 75% and withdraw 25% and lastly, for Club 100, you don't get to withdraw anything as you will continue to power up all your earnings.

When we power up our Steem, we will grow faster our SP and when that is done we will also earn more curation rewards by voting on other people's publications. So this means that with more SP we will get to support more people and also earn more rewards for doing that.
