The Diary Game || Better Life with Steem || Chennai to Coimbatore by road

Hope you are all fine and safe, I am Jyoti from India and I'm here share with you my travel diary.

Last week we went to Chennai by car along with our family. After meeting our relative in Chennai and completing those works as my daughter also had her certificate verification in college, we stayed there for two days and came from Chennai by car via Coimbatore road two days ago. I would like to share our experiences with you.

That day we left Chennai early in the morning. Because it will be very difficult to drive within the city after 8 hours. The reason is because it's peak hour as everyone is going to work and colleges and schools, so there's a lot of traffic jam all the way, so we used to leave early in the morning. So we were able to drive faster as the roads were a bit freer and less vehicles and we were out of Chennai City in about 2 hours.

Chennai is underdeveloped due to many old buildings in the interior and narrow roads. But the outer skirt areas of Chennai around Chennai are now being developed and we could see construction work going on like big buildings and apartments.

We were traveling beyond Tambaram around 9 o'clock then we were hungry so we went to a roadside restaurant and had our breakfast and for breakfast we ordered Paratha, Veg rice plate, noodles, mini meals etc. and enjoyed it and then rested there for a while and then continued our journey.

Along the way we were able to see different sights and even got to see some different buildings. One of them had idols of Gods carved on the wall of the building which was very beautiful to see. Similarly, a house was decorated very beautifully and I kept photographing them all.

Then after about 3 hours drive we reached Parikkal village which was about 20 km from Vikravand. As the place was good for rest, we stopped the cab there. And there were shops and very nice restaurants. We visited the shops there first. There were lots of wooden toys for sale. They also had a lot of wooden toys. We saw and photographed them all,

After that we went to a restaurant there and ordered and bought lunch. We ordered full meals for lunch. They served rice, sambar, tamarind gravy, rasam, curd, beetroot fries, banana joint, waffles, vada, payasam, desserts, etc. The food was very tasty, as good as home made. We were hungry. We liked it very much and enjoyed the food.

After lunch we rested there for a while, browsed all the shops there and then continued our journey. Then on the way we could see many types of plantations due to farming throughout those areas. For example, we could see the agricultural lands like palm groves, coconut groves, beetle nut trees, banana groves, sugarcane, paddy. They were all cool and green to the eyes and I kept photographing them all.

At about four o'clock we again stopped our vehicle near a bakery there and rested for a while then we had some tea and cooldrings biscuits from the bakery and continued our journey for a while. On the way we could see various vehicles a truck was loaded full of sugarcane and a bulldozer was moving slowly in the highway. Then at one place we could see a big truck overturned and met an accident. I took pictures of the vehicles.

We were approaching almost Coimbatore. By then it was around seven o'clock, my kids were getting hungry so again we stopped the cab near a restaurant and had dinner there. For dinner, we ordered medu vada, dosa, onion uttappam, puri etc. and enjoyed it. After that we rested there for some time and left from there.

After that we reached home in about an hour. It was 8 o'clock then. Thus ended the 12-hour journey. Usually 8 hours is enough to reach Coimbatore from Chennai. But it took us 12 hours as we stopped and took rest as we haven't feel tired. However, the trip was very satisfying and enjoyable for us.
