Imagine a world without communication, how will it be? Boring right? Yes it will be very boring. But then all thanks to our creator who created the gift of communication in us. He also trained us by example on how to be effective in communication.

Are we using this skills? Are we improving? Are we building this skill of communication in us?

Well, personally I will say yes because I've worked so hard daily to build and improve my communication skills. So it is up to you to answer the above questions.

Do you agree with the statement "Communication skill is the power"? Why or why not?

Yes I agree that communication skills is powerful.

Because, communication is a skill which helps in conveying information to another person which helps the person to either act positively or negatively. It could be writing, reading, listening and speaking effectively good enough to be understand by your audience.

So if you are not skilled in this area, you will end up not sending sensitive information in a correct manner. Therefore, communication skills is needed in almost every type of job a person may want to do and to get a job first, you must communicate with people. In every aspect of life, communication is needed and that's makes it powerful.

Can you provide an example of situation where "Communication skill is the power"?

In all aspects of life, communication is powerful. It restored life, promote good health, strengthen relationships and build up family bond etc. With regards to this contest, I will like to give an example of how important communication is in marriage.

In marriage, a good communication can prevent misunderstanding and misinterpretation. But in a situation where there was a misunderstanding and then a spouse decided to be silent about it, there won't solve the issue and when it prolong, it will worsen the situation hence, leads to a quarrel and fight.

Also, stills in a family setting, children need to be understood at all times. For this to take place, a good communication is required on the part of the parent to understand their kids. So for you to be successful in acquiring this skills, you must learn how to be patient while listening and speak with mildness.

How about in work place?

In my place of work, my profession really need communication skills to work effectively and successfully.

Why do I say this?

A patient will come to a hospital to see a doctor, report his or her health condition to a doctor, then the doctor will order for a laboratory test to confirm some of this conditions. After running a test, the doctor will prescribe medication based on the test results and the person's complain, then his prescription will be sent to the pharmacy (my department).

When it receiving a doctor's prescription, I will need to go through the patient medical history, go through the lab results and probably go through the prescription to be sure it is correct.

Then while dispensing, i need to pay attention to the patients because there are some of them that retain some information from the doctor. So if you don't relate well with this them, they will not be free to tell you some of the information.

So as pharmacy is the last units a patient will visit before leaving the hospital, we need to pay attention to patients, communicate freely, council the patient.

This will really help you reach the hearts of a patient and then it will make a patient to be relaxed and leave the hospital with a relief.

So you see, without having that good skills of communication this cannot be possible so I can boldly say I have a good skill of communication, I've carried it out in my home, in my workplace and in all areas of my life as well.

Some historical examples where "Communication skill is the power" led to significant change?

I want to share a history of one town in my country, recently this two town has been in dispute because of misunderstanding for about 2 years now. Then recently as at last year, they started fighting each other and this fight involves lives of innocent people and even strangers who live in that region.

They refused to listen to each other or sit to talk about their issues and settle it. A company was brought in to one of those town which increases their level of fighting and killing each other till the owners of the company called them to settle their issues but they refused.

It became unfavorable to this company but they didn't give up, they scheduled another meeting with the rulers of this two towns, so they finally accepted their mistakes and settled their misunderstanding this year.

Now they both towns are living in peace, the company is progressing, so many good things comes to them as well as they resolved their issues.

How can one improve their communication skills ?

Be friendly, Of course you need to wear a smile on your face. Learn to be patient while listening, develop a reading skill and of course a writing skill because at least you help you improve in your ways of communication.

When it come to improving communication skills to me listening is very very effective because failure to listen attentively will make you talk too much and in this process you may likely say the wrong thing.

Another area is speaking so before you respond you have to think very well before you respond then you speak respectfully also try to pay attention to yourself while speaking because you are trying to send out information and anything you say out especially when you are angry you be used against you. Therefore, it is better to be swift about hearing and slow about speaking.

Then if you are type that doesn't know how to communicate these two aspects will help you to communicate You have to listen then nowhere to join in a conversation be friendly your facial expression matters the most so you have to wear a small face while communicating depending on the topic of communication. But whatever the case just know that just a smile can put away a wary face.
