Nice to be part of The Hindwhale community's 5th week topic "Steemit Engagement Challenge - S13W5- 90's vs 2K" You have given us a perfect topic in the 90s VS 2K. I think there is a lot of difference between the children of the 90s and the children of 2000.

If you ask me, the differences between kids of the 90s and 2000s are evident in various aspects including their childhood experiences, cultural influences, and technological advancements. I would like to invite @senehasa, and @ninapenda and @kyrie1234. My sincere thanks to all the friends who invited me to join this contest.

If you lived in both generations, like 90s and 2k which one did you like the most?

I have lived in both, and I like both eras for their ongoing and continuous development as time goes by. It was a big deal for the children of the 90s, not to mention the elders, to even have a mobile phone, while the children of the 2000s are so addicted to using smartphones and social media platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook that now their family members are also worried.

The language and relationships of our children have changed. The kind of language that children used in the 90s has changed a lot in the 20s. Not only this, but their attitude towards relationships has changed a lot. Both generations' behavior has changed considerably.

But did I say what I liked and what I did not? I like both eras for their own characteristics and values. If that was a little closed society in the 90s, 2K is open and advanced so both of these are equally good. Time keeps changing the atmosphere and behavior alike.

How is school life now, and what was it like in the nineties?

You can say that some children of the 90s were beginning their knowledge in the digital world, while the children of the 2000s were quite familiar with social media and digital platforms. These differences reflect the emerging cultural, technological, and social landscapes that have shaped children's experiences of the 90s and 2000s.

Schools were more organized and disciplined compared to now however, I believe that there is no point in highlighting any difference between the two groups, as there will be differences in aspects of childhood in each subsequent generation. The children in the 90s were not as sharp as in the present time but they will get better as technology changes.

So, in the end, I would like to say that the difference between the children of 90 and 2000 will increase due to aspects of their childhood experiences, cultural influences, and technological progress, which will be according to each generation's changing times and priorities.

Compare 90s entertainment with 2K entertainment

The cultural influence and popular music of the children of the 90s were also different, which has changed with the changing times because what is happening today will be different after 10–15 years. We saw that in the 90s, children used to use floppy discs and CDs for entertainment and education, but now the developed form of improved technology is in use because children use pen drives and Google drives. There are many other technologies of which previous generations were not even aware.

Compare 90's and 2K's games/sports

Here I will tell you about some notable differences, children of the '90s played outdoor games like Ispy, hide and seek, and climbed trees while children of the 2000s started playing digital games like Temple Run and Candy Crush. They have lots of other digital options.

Children of the 90s had outdoor activities and even children living in villages had experience with cows and goats. They played outside on the streets and enjoyed time with friends, whereas 2K children would hardly know anything about pets and outdoor activities. Their knowledge is limited to a few pet animals—at most, dogs and cats.

Compare the sweets from the 90s and the 2Ks

The sweets from the 90s and 2000s were different in different parts of my country, but it seems like India is fast becoming one. The sweets during my childhood were characterized by a mix of traditional homemade sweets like laddoos, Gunjiya, and classic treats that were available every time in mothers' stores have lost their importance. But now everyone is fan of branded sweets. The traditional sweets are either made during festivals or in rural areas.

I remember the gradual inclusion of Melody Pops, Fruit chocolates, cakes, Rainbow Drops, Milkybar Chocolates, Cupcakes, Banana Bubbles, and other branded sweets as time passed. Then came branded chains, and they proved to be game changers.

In the 2000s, Cadbury Chocolates, Cookies, Amul Creme Chocolates, and candies that tasted like cookies and cream biscuits stormed the scene and set jalebi and peda aside.

Although the introduction of candies, which became popular for their sour flavor had already arrived, but 2000s saw an entirely different range of sweets that blended nostalgia and new flavors that outclassed the traditional sweets. But that is not limited to the sweets category only, it changed eating habits for other food items.

Hello @dove11

I kept stalking you till I saw your publication! This is so wonderful, your images are so beautiful too! Indeed the technological advancement, cultural differences indeed differentiates the 2 different generation. education in the 90's seemed more disciplined as you said. More importantly children in the 2k generation seems more smarter than way back. You stressed that the language in the 90's and the 2k's has changed which is actually very true. I guess you saved the best for last my friend! Success in the challenge.

You are very correct with this saying. Those days only the rich had access to phones over here and we saw them like the next world wonder. Unlike children of this generation who are addicted to smart phone. It wasn’t so during that period. I also reiterated this on my post 90’s/2ks

Thanks for your support bro, I was present in the 80s too so I can see changes happening in every decade and the behavior and technology changing the mindset of everyone, including children and adults.
