Steemit Engagement Challenge S11/W1 - "Perhaps If Man Had Not Invented Fire, What Would This Earth Have Looked Like?"

Greetings To All Community Friends!..

All pleasure are mine being in your midst today to take part in season 11 of the week 1 contest of the Steemit Engagement Challenge. I'm deeply gladen this community was among the 7 selected communities, kudos! to the team!, It's a job well done!.

Perhaps if man had not invented fire, what would this earth have looked like?

When I saw this contest at first, the first this that came out of my mouth was "cold world". If there weren't anything as fire, the world wouldn't have been too comfortable enough to live. Surviving might tend to be difficult because we need fire to make our meals, we need fire to keep ourselves warm, fire have helped quench the freezing cold that comes around.

Even our early fathers couldn't survive without fire. The fire became their frequently used technique to help their life. God knows the reason why he created the world and gave man the wisdom to create fire.

How do you think man discovered fire?

Man got to discover how to produce fire by mistakenly rubbing two pieces of stone together. This discovery of man with fire was an accidental invention which has turned into the most frequently used. As he saw how good it was, he started to use the fire for cooking food, heat, light and to scare away wild animals.

Homo erectus are the first human on earth and it is one of the member (Mya) who discovered how to control the fire, thereabout 1.7 to 2.0 million years ago. There were evidence to how he controlled the fire,which are stored in the "microscopic traces of wood ash".

What are the advantages and disadvantages of fire?

Here, I will state five advantages and disadvantages of fire each

Advantages Of Fire

• Electricity:

Most of the produced electricity today still comes from burning fossil fuel and natural gas. The electrical currents which are produced are as a result of the rapid rotation of the magnets around the copper wires.

• Light:

In chemistry, the chemical reaction of fire gets to produces light as a byproduct. Light have been in use thousand of years. That we are able to mark Ii ur paths at night is at the result of the fire torches made.

• Purification of Water:

Fire helps in purifying the water by simply simmering water for 5 minutes, which is one of the greatest ways used in cleansing water from the home's faucet.

• Cooking:

Till date, fire is the mostly used for cooking, the meat we consume are burned to make it secure and more tasty for human consumption. We utilize fire to boil eggs, vegetables, and other food items in boiling water and this have made human to employ more ways to prepare food more faster using the fire, you can now roast, burn, bake, and scorching your food.

• Communication:

Fire can be used as a means of communication to relay signals to far residents of towns and villages. This is a more effective means for sending a message because people understands it, can mostly be used in romote and rural areas.

Disadvantages Of Fire

• Controlled fire leads to erosion:

Controlling fires on steep slopes are quite challenging and they can equally lead to erosion when there's a heavy rainfall.

• Burning substances releases carbon dioxide:

Most times, controlling burning has a very big effect which is releasing large quantity of carbon dioxide. These carbon gotten from burning are locked in plants and trees, which then returns back to the air in a new form of carbon dioxide.

• Fire Can Put the Ecosystem In Chaos:

The forest fire has the power to destroy the entire ecology if gotten out of hand. And it happens to be that every living creature like the soil, insects, water and animals could be negatively affected by this consequences.

• Kill Unintended Plants or Trees:

Sometimes it happens to be that the smoke and chemicals from the burns might hurt or kill plants and trees. As a result of that, insects could thrive in scars and devastate them as well.

• Fires Cause Health Issues:

Smoke are very harmful to our immune system, most especially our lungs, that's why smokers are reliable to die young because the liver will be badly affected. They can also cause eye coughing fits, irritation, coughing and some other respiratory issues.

Is fire essential for us or not?

Fire is very important to our daily living because it is what we use on a daily basis. Without this fire, it can be very difficult to cope with this modern changes in our world today.

That we eat food everyday is because there's fire to prepare them, the vehicle we take to work basically everyday were made out of fire processes. So? Fire is very essential to man!.

How should we handle fire for a safe environment?

There's measures to take inorder to handle fire in the environment and this include;

• Do not leave your candles burning before leaving a room or going to bed.

• Turn off all electricity before leaving for a far distance or work to avoid thunderstorm causing damage to the electricity.

• During the time of cooking, all materials like towels, curtains and pot holders should be kept far away from the fire.

• Dispose chemical substances properly to avoid starting up burning.

• Keep all lighters and matches safe, out of the reach of children.

Conclusion

I draw the curtain down to Conclude with this, fire is important to mankind but then we should learn the basics on how to control fire to avoid causing damages.
