Types Of Mindests Towards Money

Recently I was thinking about the use of money and why it is important to have it. While I was thinking another thought came into my mind. There are different thoughts of how to think of money. That is why in this article I wanted to talk about how different approaches towards money can have different outcomes. As you all know the rich people look at money differently as the poor and that is what got me into this topic.

Two Different Mindsets

Lets start looking at the two different mindsets towards money and improve the relationship with money. We can than transfer this mindset on crypto, stocks or whatever you are invested in. The two mindsets are poverty versus abundance. The first one is based on fear. Here the people are constantly afraid that they don’t have enough money or think they will never have enough money. They are in constant search for money and are very uncertain about their current and future financial situation. The interesting thing about that is that those people are not always poor, so that wealthy and poor people can have this mindset. Those people see the world as a finite place. In this kind of world when somebody gains something there is less for everyone else. Furthermore, they treat things in life very transactional which means that they always demand a favor back. Basically, everything is a win and take situation and in order for one person to win somebody else has to lose.

On the other hand there is the Abundance mindset which helps people to generate and maintain wealth. The relationship with money in this mindset is based on optimism and competence. The world is an infinite place where there is enough wins for everyone and it is up to you to take it. Those people focus on win-win scenarios and give without expectations of receiving anything in return. In this mindset money is an infinite resource and it is up to yourself to create as much as you need. With this being said, there is no clear mindset, everyone has a little bit of both but it depends how much on the scale you are in one or in the other mindset. That is why I want to lay out a few sectors in life where you can see whether you are tending towards one or another.

Sectors In Life

Like I mentioned before, there a several sectors in life where you can differentiate between those two mindsets. The first one is beliefs about the world. People with a poverty mindset have the impression that everything is unfair and that the world is against them. They think that the world owes them something and constantly expect to receive something. On the other hand, abundance mindset people are aware of all the unfairness but they chose to make the best out of it. These people are very grateful for any success and every opportunity is treated as failure or success. Within this they view failure as a learning opportunity which makes it a win-win scenario.

The second sector is how people are viewing successful people. In this category, poverty mindset people are very jealous and envious. Like I mentioned before, they believe that when somebody is successful, there is less for the rest of the people and especially for them. In contrary, people with an abundance mindset celebrate every every kind of success even if that is not their own. They are inspired and motivated by these people and rather reach out to them to gain them as a mentor or role model.

The next sector is a very interesting one and it is how people are dealing with competition. The poverty mindset deals with competition in the form of anger and discouragement. They are afraid of being replaced or being worse than somebody. On the other hand, abundance mindset is very welcome to competition with open arms. Their general believe is that competition makes you better and they are excited about every challenge they can get. These people even befriend the competition to get a win-win scenario.

The penultimate sector is the lifestyle. In a poverty mindset people are constantly focused on budgeting, spending less and cutting to save money. They are sacrificing their time, comfort and happiness to make as much of one dollar as possible. Basically they are trading time for money. The abundance focused people are living their life fully and focus on things that they are passionate about. They want to experience new things in life and operate with confidence and optimism. They appreciate what they have and view every success as a bonus. In general, time is valued more than money which makes them essentially prioritize time and experience over money.

Last but not least is the relationship with people. In my opinion this is one of the most important sectors in life in general. Here, the poverty mindset sees people as a means to something. They generally don’t want to learn from most of people and see them more as job or money opportunity. On the other hand, abundance mindset focuses on the people itself. The relationships are built around trust, shared values and enjoyment. Furthermore, they view each person as somebody to learn from and try it.

Conclusion

With all of this being said, I want to stress that these two mindsets are on a scale and it is very difficult to be 100% of one of them. In my opinion it is highly recommended to work towards an abundance mindset. I really hope that I could give you an insight of the two mindsets and am curious where you see yourself on this scale? I am also very open to feedback if you think I could do something better.

It is really interesting what you say, from a young age we are created the mentality and personality of what we will be and develop, but the part of the belief is involved, we are taught at the level of religion that being rich is bad and many people take it literally, but I have always thought that having more, is an important tool to help and give opportunities to others.
thanks for sharing

I am glad you see it that way. It is true that most of the people are being taught wrong from the begining that is whya lot of people are struggling at some point.

Thank you for commenting on my post! :)

Hello @ga38jem
It is really a good approach that you bring to share, I do not know what happens in the minds of people who live complaining thinking in a limited way, it is very complicated that someone can move forward thinking like that.
You have to think and see money and things as they are, abundant and also feel deserving of good things, I feel that goes hand in hand with the thought of abundant, it is not about taking anything from anyone but to know that there is for everyone.

You are completely right and I agree wih everything that you just said.

Thank you that your shared your thoughts on that! :)

Hi @ga38jem. Interesting point, we really all have a mindset about money, and this has a big impact on the way we take on business or treat people, changing our view of money is the first step to improve our decision making and attitude towards personal finance.

I agree with you. I met a lot of people who have money as number one priority which makes them seem very toxic.

Thank you for your comment! :)

Hello @ga38jem

Whatever we mentally program about abundance will attract abundance, and vice versa whatever we do around poverty will only bring us poverty at all levels, I agree with you certainly people who focus on win-win scenarios and give without expectations of receiving anything in return will attract abundance at their feet, great post.

Best regards, be well.

Thank you for your response! I think you summarized it very well :)

Very well said. One thing I really believe is that the mindset you have towards money will actually determine how you will overcome money or become successful over money.

Thank you :)

I fully agree with your believe :)

Greetings @ga38jem
The human being in itself needs money to meet their basic needs and thoughts or mentality are always present, now a thought without the greed of money is what makes man great, The money will come product of work or some mental effort or luck, but it is best not to have a poor mentality, but rather to have a mentality of
Thank you very much for sharing.

That is a great summary, thank you for your comment! :)

Greetings friend, it is certainly a great writing projected from different approaches and all lead us to the conclusion that everything is a matter of attitude to what we want, I have seen many people plunge into a sea of wailing and others with the same situation trying to overcome what happens with optimism, you attract what you think and although money is fundamental, I think the satisfaction of achieving things can also be part of success.

So long, have a great week.

Thank you for sharing yout thoughts on this! I always appreciate when somebody mentions something from their experience :)

Hi @ga38jem

Another yet interesting read. Upvoted already :)

I found it quite amazing to realize, that often people who have full time stable jobs look at money in such a different ways comparing to those who run their own small businesses.

And also those who are aware of Bitcoin and understand value behind it - they often look at money in different ways comparing to those who always were only using FIAT and never thought much about underlying value of FIAT currencies.

I myself used to look at money as a tool. One that is allowing me not only to pay for goods and services, but also allowing me to get closer to people. I've realized long time ago, that if I can help others make some extra $$$ then it will reflect on trust an relationship between us.

Basically, everything is a win and take situation and in order for one person to win somebody else has to lose.

Isn't dream to be able to create win-win scenarions? I wonder why most people do not seem to work that way. Why so many learned to follow mindset: "when somebody gains something there is less for everyone else"

If we would only learn more about financial education in school - then more people would change their mindset towards mentioned "abundance".

Post resteemed (I don't resteem often, so consider yourself lucky hihihi ;)
Yours, Piotr

Thank you very much!

You brought up an interesting point! The financial education in schools is very poor and I think it is currently up to the parents to teach their children about money. Unfortuantely, the parents also did not have the education which makes it a very ad downwards spiral.

Thank you very much for the resteem! :)

I know it's mindset you wanted to type not mindest but true every one is different so every one has it's own mindset towards money that is why have spenders, savers and givers

Thank you for the feedback! Have to watch out for these typos next time I post :D
