Let's talk about centralization and decentralization.

Lately we can find many publications related to this topic, before and after the bifurcation was and is used to justify the division that resulted in the birth of the HIVE chain; Today the centralization of the platforms is under discussion in the community of both chains.
Defenders and detractors from one side and the other try to make clear how central or decentralized a particular chain is, using the arguments that according to each point of view STEEM or STEEMIT is better or worse than HIVE, a fight that in my opinion is unsuccessful.
I ask you to stay with me until the end!
Definitions.
In order to express my opinion on this discussion, I want to easily bring up concepts that the people involved know perfectly well.
"Centralization indicates the action of concentrating authority, that is, decision making falls or is centralized on a specific person or group of individuals."
"Decentralization is the action of transferring or delegating authority to other hierarchies, that is, other departments or units of an organization or government can make decisions."
My personal contribution to this discussion.
As is known to the majority, both centralization and decentralization are only systems of administration and government, just like the ideological systems that proliferate in the world, therefore companies, groups or societies determine which system is the most adjusts to that organization, through which they can obtain the success that that particular group pursues.
If we analyze all of the above, we can conclude that it is not about the system, but about those who operate the system, that is, the responsibility falls on the person or group of people who lead in either case, since both systems have advantages and disadvantages that we can take advantage of if we manage resources wisely and efficiently.
Objective of each organization.
I think that the objective of each organization is to have the greatest possible success regarding the purpose for which it was created, this is how STEEM and HIVE have the purpose of functioning as ecosystems that allow MONETIZING the content of a large number of content creators that do not have The possibility of charging for their work, this is achieved through the participation of a community that creates a synergy between content creators and consumers of this content, if the term applies.
At STEEM or STEEMIT many of us have learned to generate content (write) and consume content (read), STEEM successfully accomplished what no other social network in the world has achieved, generating COMMITMENT in a whole vast community that is still developing, All this has just been transferred to HIVE, which has the same essence of what some today denigrate.
We should not deny the fact that most of us here are with a common goal of MONEY, the majority did not come to STEEM thinking of making their particular line of thought or ideology known, we came here for cryptocurrencies primarily, yes I am right, (correct me if I am wrong) we should not argue now that we are leaving because I cannot freely express my ideas.

Success history on both systems.
Without investigating so deeply, we realize that the most successful companies in the world have a CENTRALIZED government system, and if we get closer to what our chains represent, we cannot deny the success of Facebook, twitter, Instagram just to mention some networks of the best known and most successful, not to mention companies from another branch of the economy.
The success of decentralization remains to be seen, and although there may be examples of decentralized organizations that are successful, I am sure they do not come close in numbers to those that are centralized. It is my personal opinion.
Examples close to my experience, on both systems.
The decentralization came to my country Venezuela in the form of Communal Councils, the previous governments assured that the best way to decentralize power were Governments and Mayors, but the government of President Hugo Chavez with the slogan of giving more "POWER TO THE PEOPLE" established the community councils and we all know the results, waste, irresponsibility, mismanagement of resources and corruption.
Now, were the communal councils bad? I don't think so, I think the whole system was mishandled.
Project HOPE is a project that has a defined leadership, and although it is an initiative that is being developed, it has been demonstrated that there is a good management of human and financial resources which is pushing us towards success, even in this difficult time that they are living both platforms in which we are present.
Final reflection.
In both systems of governance we find advantages and disadvantages, we must stop radicalism and war. If you don't like a system you go without looking back, but when you bet and contribute to the destruction of one or the other then you are crossing the limits.
In the particular case of STEEM and HIVE they are in essence the same thing, those who arrived, settled and grew up in STEEM are the same ones who today give life to HIVE, to be more specific they are your friends, or at least they were until recently, there are those who stayed on STEEM, those who moved to HIVE and a third group that is working on both platforms (most of them).
When you attack one of the two platforms you are attacking and looking for the failure of your friend, who is in STEEM in HIVE or both platforms.

Funny thing is, that once old witnesses has most places in top20 and Justin witnesses just few - then for the very first time we've experiences some sort of real decentralization. And NOONE liked it.
I'm definetly not sure why so many intelligent people think that decentralization is "solution to all problems". In many cases centralization is more efficient and simply BETTER. Current hype around decentralization is a bit strange to me.
Decentralization = lack of leadership, lack of one vision and plan, lack of anyone responsible for failures. And it means slow decision making process.

I definitely think that the issue of decentralization is overrated, I am not saying that it is bad, but it is always necessary to lead someone to make some decisions that others do not dare to make.
Good definition, some will not share it but it makes a lot of sense.

Both systems have their positive sides.
Both platforms blockchain are decentralized the differences now is one has a CEO while the other have a governing body by a group of centralized witnesses claiming to be decentralized.
One is trying to reshape things and starting a fresh, the other is starting new with almost the same old method.

There is the difference brother, I think the system is the same, the operation the same, the concept is the same, but governance is what changes everything, there is a lot of talk about decentralization but the steem government moved to hive, it's just a change of building.
Good point, I had not analyzed it from that perspective, years complaining about the methods and what was missing for steem to fly, so we ended up moving the old methods with all their previous deficiencies to the new structure, hopefully this will help to redefine the actions , looking for the best for everyone.

In both cases, the two system have their advantages. Decentralization for cryptocurrency was based on the ledger and not governance. Wherever there is governance, there is a little bit of centralization (just like the jury system).
Bitcoin chain is decentralized as on person has the exclusive right to alter anything on the ledger so is steem, eth, hive or any other cryptocurrency blockchain but the difference is governance. With governance, certain people start to have power and start to influence the activities but not the chain.
Very well said friend, good knowledge of the subject, here I mean is the governance that is the root of all the events that we have seen in the last days, so it depends on those who run the system, we cannot claim that a decentralized system is a system without rules.

That is the point, we are here trying to generate profits, income for our own benefit, we must have the necessary maturity to adapt, improve the place where we produce, add value to the chain promoting both sides because it is a unique opportunity that we have.

Truth is, we can't systematically see some other unpredictable circumstances that comes with both decentralization and centralisation but we definitely know that the modern world is embracing decentralization for the reason for collective ownership. However these systems are what they are and has its own influence on most important sector of life.
Very true, the issue of decentralization is very appealing, yet it is often misinterpreted and misapplied by leaning to either extreme, either controls and censorship or the lack of rules and controls.

Everything you mention is correct, many people are against something, but many people are only against it because they follow the guidance of the old witnesses and whales, I am sure most people still do not think for themselves, I can say something now, in a long time I myself was against how the old witnesses managed this whole system. Why? Very simple and no one will let me lie, it was through the retaliation of people so powerful that they can make you invisible and not be on anyone's radar. I'm sure many are now in that stage of not being able to be against something for suffering the consequences.
The whole community follows the most powerful people, thinking it is right, I am not saying it is wrong because each person makes his or her own decision, or maybe these people who do not have the most influential power are willing to vote on every single publication they make.
It is not about seeing who is on the right side, it is simply about continuing to create a platform that will give excellent results in the future, there will be different points of view, but most of the old witnesses and whales take it as something negative, and if someone means negative to them it is an enemy.
We all agree and we know exactly what centralization and decentralization means, there is no need for anyone else to tell us what to do right.., the future of both chains can be better if both parties decide to work on their side, implementing to end the wars through exchanges of talks. We start conversations that may not have an end, but everything must be on the positive side, each exchange helps to continue improving the blockchain.

I can say it categorically that the old witnesses were just a few people making a lot of noise. Both systems are good and like i will say, steem is not centralized, steem is s decentralized blockchain.
