Being ahead of the competition requires Management skills, either as an entrepreneur or as a manager in a company. A company is just a place if there are no management skills involved to keep the company growing. Every manager needs to have these skills in other to be able to interact with customers, employees, and boards of directors/investors.

As we continue in this post, I will be sharing the skills required to manage a company and the first is Time management as it is required to get things done. People are willing to do jobs after 1000 years but as a manager, the ability to manage time as well as assist employees to manage time is key.

Organization and delegation is another skill that should be learnt and possessed by a manager. The ability to determine what will be at a particular period of time and who will do it is key to allowing a business to grow as well as provide opportunities for employees to grow.

Strategic thinking is another skill. The job of the manager is to think about the growth of the company. The next 5 steps the company will be taking should be organized by the manager now. he should be able to strategize and solve problems very fast.

Mentoring and Development Skills is also very important as employees need to grow and this growth is what is needed by the company to improve. The ability to mentor subordinates to archive success is highly required by managers.

Marketing, Sales, Managing External R&D, Leadership, Technical skills, Networking, Project manager, Team building, Negotiation, Analytical skills, ability to Multi-Task, Cash flow management, Understanding Financial Statements, creativity, Innovation, teamwork, embracing failure, patience, ability to evolve, delegation, Financial management, Problem Solving and so on. These listed attributes or skills are needed by a manager of a company if the company has to stay above its competitors at all time. Never overlook the importance of innovation as it is always changing.

Knowing how to manage our time is important and delegate tasks as well, if we have a team we must know how to distribute responsibilities to keep the business moving forward. Greetings!
