Hello! Continuing with the options to travel without leaving home, today I want to share a fourth recommendation: watch travel movies.

Watching movies with traveling themes is always a good option to get to know places in the world that arouse our interest and to explore other geographies, at least with our eyes.

Mirar películas con temáticas viajeras siempre es una buena opción para conocer lugares del mundo que despiertan nuestro interés y recorrer otras geografías, al menos con la mirada.

There are three that catch my attention and that I recommend: Wild, Into the Wild and Maidentrip, all three based on true stories, which makes them very special.

Wild (2014) presents the story of Cheryl Strayed, played by Reese Witherspoon, a woman who faces her personal demons and the physical difficulties of a wild road, within the spectacular Pacific Crest Trail, a national trail in the United States that crosses the states California, Oregon and Washington.

Into the Wild (2007), is a film based on Jon Krakauer's book on the life of Christopher Johnson McCandless (played by Emile Hirsch), an American hiker who became a reference for many adventurers for choosing a lifestyle that confronted him with the harsh conditions of nature. Christopher died in 1992 near Denali National Park, Alaska, after living on his own with few supplies for nearly four months.

About Christopher McCandless, it is very curious how there are mixed opinions about his tragic ending. His official cause of death was starvation, and although he is a heroic reference for many because of his free spirit, others emphasize that his little experience in the wild led him to make wrong decisions that cost him his life.

This adventure went through a previous fight against the Dutch authorities to get his travel permit.
